Senate body for five-year age relaxation for CSS candidates

ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on the Cabinet Secretariat on Wednesday directed the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) to extend by five years the age limit for appearing in the Central Superior Services (CSS) examination, APP reported. The committee, chaired by Senator Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi, directed the FPSC to also ensure that the quota for the CSS exam, as established under the Constitution’s Article 27, was observed. The committee also called for legislation to end the deputation of military personnel to civilian posts. Committee member Kamran Murtaza told Daily Times: “We welcomed the army chief’s announcement [that serving military personnel were being withdrawn] but it was my contention that retired military officers working in civil departments beyond the fixed quota should also be removed.” He said that Cabinet Division officials had been asked “to present the complete record next time... we want to know how many retired military officials have been working in civil departments”. Meanwhile, the Senate Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges, chaired by Senator Tahir Hussain Mashhadi ‘grilled’ the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) over its poor performance. Committee member Senator Ismail Buledi told Daily Times the committee had “grilled them [PIA authorities] over their poor performance. The committee members said there should be accountability of the PIA bosses”. Buledi said that former PIA chairman Tariq Kirmani was responsible for the alarming position of the airline and should be held accountable.

Dear marwatown
But the moot point is if at all this recommendation find smooth sailing way upto the door of prime minister and other power wielder to get implimented.
what if it ends up in limbo or even shelved ??
but it is an absoloute imperative to tap the prodigious talent which otherwise happen to see the woods for forest or foorest for the woods and couldn,t avail the right modus operandi in attempting CSS and freak out of the competition yet in sharp contrast to it mediocre inteligent ones are able to make it for some formula strategies and some other ones for advantageous educational back grounds. the supposed two year age relaxation to backward areas never adress the issue it only obscure the issue and most of the time benifits inequitously

dear dr qasim,
there is now thick fog shrouding the whole issue, it was heard that for general people age limitis going to extend to 30 years but still some self-seeking quarters frown upon it and tend to kill the spirit of this longawaited move to have it scuttled in their version of circular reasoning, yet it is most desired. In most european countries there is no age limit for civil services. after having made to civil services , most of aspirant just ease into the insulation from the quest of knowledge. yet human mind perfects knowledge and learning till 40 years as born out by science

Question Age Relaxation - No of Chances.

If its true that this year FPSC is giving age relaxation to 5 year. Does it also mean that they are also going to increase the number of chances to appear in CSS and they are to change the CSS Syllabus. Its a big question before going for CSS 2009?

when i enquired from different css academies and othere people they say there is hardly any chance for age to increase for 2009. it may as well be that it extends to only 30 years for the ones who have master degree and that too in 2010. so please clarify if it has been revisited and some new deliberations are on the cards
