i think rules r rules.... one shud not decline or lower de standards if one could not get to it..... scoring 600 marks and then making for de merit list has it own charm so i think its better tht one shud atleast get aggregate in order to get into the merit list....

after al this is CSS mates, this is y every body is not a CSP.

and yes....

Default double standards

you like it because it favours you !!!

you see even in the NFC awards now population is not the only criteria.

Rules are meant to be changed or amend atleast.

Thanks for "praising" my double standards!

Yes I do agree with u that in spite of clearing the exam with good marks some bright candidates are not allocated due to quota system.
This is a serious matter of concern at individual level but at aggregate (national) level it is not so.

I want to state a little example:
A total of 100 candidates appear in the exam (each candidate representing 1% of Pak's population). So from Punjab 50% r going to appear, Baluchistan 6% and FATA 4% so on.

After exam the Govt announces 10 seats to be allocated among the successful candidates.

Assuming that all the 100 candidates are found eligible for the allocation.

Now,
From Punjab 50 persons would be competing for 10 seats
From Sindh 19 persons would be competing for 10 seats
From Baluchistan 6 persons would be competing for 10 seats
From NWFP 11 persons would be competing for 10 seats
from FATA 4 persons would be competing for 10 seats
From AJ&K 2 persons would be competing for 10 seats

Thus, it is evident that the probability of candidates belonging to Punjab would be much higher then others. This is a simple logic.

Apart from this the wide disparity in educational facilities, academies, material, guidence provided in Punjab (esp. Lahore) is incomparable to any part of the country.

Do u still believe that the system should adopt open-merit??
If u can come up with any criteria other then the population then kindly state that.
