Hello Everyone , well thanks Zeeshan for posting this information, i donot know what mess the FPSC has created this time; no news about training commencement and there are still lot many news in the circles about a long writ petition in line for many candisites who would suffer with the implementation of Women Quota, it looks 35Th Common would have to see some more jolts before coming to some definite conclusive end.Revision of 10% quota gainst the service/ groups and not from left overs like before needs a bit of clarification. what about those female candidates who automatically fall in the occupational groupos without it's implementation ? well the FPSC itself doesnot know where it's heading

I visited the link but was a bit confused. Can someone clarify what this new quota means as to how many seats are reserved for women in each province?

FPSC ANNOUNCES REVISED DISTRIBUTION OF VACANCIES TO BE
FILLED ON THE BASIS OF CSS EXAMINATION, 2006
Federal Public Service Commission has announced revised distribution of 227 vacancies, including 25 carried over vacancies of 2005 Examination(i.e Sindh(Rural)-07, Sindh(Urban)-13 and AJK-05),to be filled on the basis of the final results of the Competitive Examination 2006, according to the Government policy on Provincial/Regional quotas and 10% reserved Women quota. Out of total 227 vacancies, 15 vacancies will be filled on all- Pakistan merit, 194 vacancies on Province/Region based merit while remaining 18 seats will be assigned to female candidates against 10% reserved quota for women. It has been decided that
allocation against 10% reserved quota for women candidates will be made to the Services/Groups against the share of their Provinces/Regions, except open merit quota. Previously it was announced that allocation against the quota for female candidates will be made from the left over vacancies against the share of their Province/Region but now the decision has been revised. In case qualified women candidates are not available, the unfilled vacancies will be carried forward.
[B]According to the revised distribution 15 seats will be filled on merit basis(7.5%), out of 50% quota of Punjab 90 seats will be filled on merit, Sindh( Rural) will have 27 seats on merit(11.4%), Sindh(Urban) 29 seats (7.6%), NWFP: 21 seats (11.5%), Balochistan: 12 seats (6%), NA&FATA: 07 seats (4%) and AJK 08
seats (2%). Women candidates allocation is 10 seats to Punjab, 3 Sindh(Rural),1 Sindh (Urban), 2 NWFP,1 Balochistan and 1 NA&FATA.

[B]Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service (PAAS)- 38, Commerce and Trade Group (CTG)-16,Customs and Excise Group(CEG)-20, District Management Group (DMG)-36,Foreign Service of Pakistan (FSP)-12, Income Tax Group (ITG)-54, Information Group(IG)-26,Police Service of Pakistan (PSP)-15, Postal Group (Post-G)-03, Railways (Commercial and Transportation) Group (RCTG)-07[/B]

Allocation of candidates to the Service/Occupational Group will be made keeping in view the suitability of the candidates as determined by the Commission, their merit position, preference of the candidates and the quota of Provinces/Regions concerned as set out in the Rules for the Competitive Examination, 2006.

The Government, however, reserves the right to fill a smaller or a larger number of vacancies than those indicated

Well Hello Everyone. Zeeshan there is no feedback form your end and no comment either wheather this women quota is justified or not. ????
MasaAllah at position no 5 you remain unaffected from it but it has hit really hard to most of us, what you say about it.
@Sajid well it has not been challenged as yet because the allocations are still in the pipeline and most probably on the verge of approval from the revised point of view regarding implentation of women Quota.
One and only one strong point against women quota remains the fact that girls were already doing great in Competitive exams but this so called enlightened moderation has really taken us badly. what justification remains for women quota in Punjab for example where ten additional seats have been given to girls; crashing out the people from their groups and it looks really awful that someone belonging to your oen province gets the desired group while she is much lower than you in the merit list.
it needs to be challenged and it should be challenged in any case what so ever.Giving Balouchistan more quota is certainly good but opening another door to girls with such a big chunk like 10% special quota is really objectionable while reducing the merit quota to 7.5% from 10%.It doesnot convey or involve much cherished slogan of empowering women rather it has brought more frustartion and specially to those who are at the tail waiting for allocations.Merit should successively increase rather than decreasing.

Well Babar I didnt answer u becuase I dont really have any comments to offer on this issue..Personally speaking, I wont be an avid advocate of the implementation of this quota, but I certainly dont understand that on one hand u're lauding the increase in the quota for Baluchistan and on the other hand u're lamenting the implementation of the women quota..Personally, I am the most vocal advocate of increasing the merit quota in the first place, but looking at the contemporary political dimensions and the discontent that prevails in Baluchistan, I believe that this is an honest gesture on part of the Government..About the women quota, I think its an effort for the social uplift of women by the Govt..About getting redressal from the courts, yes it is the right of every candidate, but I think that anyone who hasn't lodged a representation with the FPSC, doesn't stand a very strong plea in the court..If anyone plans to move the court against women quota, he/she must make a representation with the FPSC..And only after a reply is recieved from the concerned quarters, he/she can muster up a strong case in the court..

Well i plead for increase in Baluchistan quota but this quota has nothing to do with intoduction in women quota both are different implementations, while increase in Baluchistan quota was definitely the need of hour there was no need to introduce women quota as girls are already doing great in Competitive exam;secondly by introducing such steps the frustration of male candidates has increased.Girls do get share from general seats as well and they do get the benefit of women quota on the other end. The upliftment of women on part of Governement in this manner is not a very sensible step i would say. As you must be knowing that no woman candidate has qualified from Baluchistan, Sind R AND AJK so this quota is only going to benefit Punjab although with respect to it's share in each service/ occupational group.The case becomes more severe for male candiaiates who are on the tip of each occupational group becuse the group wise allocation would change with more girls from lower merit position coming ion higher groups while male cnadidates being higher in merit position would drop.As far as reduction in Merit quota is concerned it is extremely wrong move, instead means and methods to increase it substantially should be the aim.

@- Babar Ali: The seats earmarked for women quota are within the respective province/region. If there is no female qualifier from Baluchistan, Sindh R or AJK then their seats would be carried over and would not be allocated to Punjabi female qualifiers.
