well the result is simply ridiculous.i mean one cant really say its base on justice.For God's sake they could have choose another way of failing candidates but this massive faillure in english composition is simply unbearable.
i got 55 in composition last year and this year only 30,and plz dont try to convince me tht i must have done paper badly or not good enough it was not at all so bad enough to deserve 30 marks paper was even easier than last year.wht the hell are they demanding from us .i mean its ok tht at civil services level english should be good but is it the only standard.ppl are passed in important papers like pak affairs,current affairs,essay all optionals and they failed almost everyone in english paper.one who has passed essay paper or other papers his or her english is good enough to serve all purposes required at such level.and strict marking is one thing it seems some papers are checked by some freak or one wid clear instructions to fail as many ppl as he can .

i totally agree with nosheen, almost all the students failed in the composition paper except 194.I did not appear in 2007 and i am not happy for that because this could happen with anyone.There is something fishy, some one has to take the responsibility for this fiasco.It looks kind of wicked to see all the candidates failing in one common paper.Albeit the students who passed the Eng literature paper were declared "fail" in the composition paper.One can believe that majority of the candidates fail in the essay exam but failing in composition is beyond the thinking.Fpsc has to answer this query, i think the students who have failed only in composition paper with little margin should confront it and demand fpsc to re look into this matter or they should file a petition in the supreme court.These are my views only.

it may b the reason that they apply strict marking rules in this particular paper.And the paper was not also very easy.
Im assuming that bcz in our professional chatered accountancy papers,it often happens that in one paper ,strict scoring rules apply and whole lot fails.Even in one of our papers only 6 students from lahore passed (total may b 500-700),I was 1 of them fortunately.
May b FPSC is following that pattern.

I was told earlier that it takes 2 months approx. from result to the med. tests. Could anyone tell me how long it takes from med test to the psychological tests and interviews? Thnx

to those who think FPSC has failed people on purpose... Well guyz.. common.. I have appeared three times in the exam.. failed in English Papers in the first attempt even though i thought i was good at it. In the seconmd attempt I adopted a specific approach towards it and scored 68 (Got allocated to C&T).. this is the third attempt and i have again passed with the same approach. I had big names with me who appeared and failed and i met people in academy who were like, on them was son of a truck driver from Badin, one waa a lecturer in some college in a far flung area of Punjab and may other like them. I read a post wherein some body said that paper was easy!! well believe me, whenever the paper appears to be easy, it is the most difficult paper.. cuz it is a competetive exam guyz!! .. i remember on the very first day of exams, i told a friend that this time around many people are going to fail cuz everybody is saying that papers are easy. My very sincere advice to those who have unfortunately failed the exam is that they should learn from the exam, there must be some defficiency.. focus on the next attempt cuz that is the difference between winners and loosers.. well paper of english composition gave a tough time to me while i was solving the first question of paragraph writing...and i had to made a big cross over my one complete question then i solved that question again. actually the paragraph given to find out answer of the questions below was very tricky , i dont know wether i did right or wrong the second time. but i conclude that never take any paper ( even not optionals and islamiat) in css.

i have registered to this forum after reading your post. i appeared in css 2007. it was my 1st attempt. and i felt that the papers were very easy, especially Essay and Eglish. ironically, i've failed in these two papers
your analysis sounds convincing. now i wana know the 'specific approach' that you adopted for these two papers especially. would you be kind enough to tell me the details of that approach?thanx

@Bhaloo: I agree with you. The papers were really tough to solve specifically among my optionals, Public Administration and IR gave me a very tough time. God helped and I crossed them. About precise paper, though it appeared relatively easier as compared to last year but it was indeed tricky. In last year's paper the passage that came for precise was related to epistemology a branch off philosophy and due to difficult names and lack of vocab related to philosophy made it complicated but believe me it was easy for a person who has read Garder's Sohie's world. Well this time the paper was simple but tricky. I will not say anything for all those who want to approach CJ or any one else since I am afraid if they take it wrong for I have passed but with all my sincerity I will say it is not advisable, rest you can try your luck and you're master of your actions. Moreover, those who were had last attempt and failed, kindly explore other avenues timely since Allah Subhan Tala's decisions are very well sought out. I do have many such examples in personal life.
