what is the criteria of merit vacancies... how are these vacancies filled...plz elaborate...

well there are 7.5 percent merit quota but this again divided amongst various groups
for example PSP would be inducting 2 person from merit quota and other from the respective province quota
similarly dmg , fsp , ctg all have one or two merit quota seats
so lets say the maximum no sindh urban candidates who would go to psp would not more than four and similarly only three to four at max could go to dmg
If i take CTG it has only one seat for the men of sindh uran so this merit qouta remains the only outside chance for a sindh urban candidate to be placed in ctg

A better understanding of importance of merit quota will be understand from the example of zishan siddiqui .
He topped from the province of sindh in 2007 and he was over all eight on merit
However since the merit seats were occupied by zubair ahmed gundal and bukari sahab (former ITG) He was placed psp against sindh urban quota and thus only one other sindh urban candidate could be placed in PSP
