Default hard work, hard work and then Luck..

Asslam o alaikum friends..
I dont know this post will be a useful one or not .. but i want to share my experience with friends .. i will try to put everything with 100 % honesty... I saw the advertisement of KIPS... it was a crash programme of 3 months .. Dec 4 to March first week ... i had no idea about CSS subjects or preparation before going KIPS.. they offered us the optionals of Indo-pak history, Sociology, Journalism, and Arabic...We had to opt these subjects coz we hadnt any choice.. The session was going fine till 27th of Dec and then after Benazir's assassination, academy was closed for 3 or 4 days.. but it was a loss of one week, then atleast i couldnt make the things going till the exams held..even i didnt attended the academy after jan.. I was not well prepared even i didnt touched Arabic at all.. I took the exams for an exposure.. I was cleaned by Arabic... I got 8 marks in Arabic even i got 4 days for the preparation during the exams.. that was a pure dishonesty at my part... remaining results was as follow...

Essay.. 50
Precis.. 56
EDS 51
Isl 56 not sure... but around this figure
P.Aff 37
C.Aff 35

I.P History 35+37
Sociology 43
Journalism 51
Arabic 8+Absent..

All i want to say is that never lose hope or under estimate yourself.. dont get extra pressure during the exams and preparation... devotion is needed but it should not suppress you... work hard and be honest with your goal.. give your 100% with confidence.. unfortunately i could not get prepared for CSS 2009 due to some service problems ... Guidence is needed from the Seniors..

Regardz..

@Sameer.

There can be a number of reasons for such a failure. It is my staunch belief that one cannot pass Css exams, if one is not destined for a governmental post, some may differ but this is what i think.....There are some other factors which i have noticed in my friends who could not clear this time, some can be enumerated as...

1. Wrong choice of subjects.....For example... Arabic, most of us haven't studied Arabic at any level throughout our educational career, but are lured to go for it by some acadamies. As long as the paper pattern remains the same its good, some even scored in 180's but when the pattern is changed many suffer like they did in css 2008 because we don't have indepth knowledge of the subject.

2. Over Confidence....

3. Giving less time to English and General Knowledge.
remember...these subjects are the key...kindly focus on these, as everyone is well equiped in the optionals...it is the performance in these which makes the difference.

4. Pre-mature Attempts....One should never attempt Css, if one is doubtfull of one's preparation. Offcourse some get through with little preparation but not all are equal. so i think one should never go half hearted. It should always be a full fledged attempt.

Regards
