Interview Dilemma

This forum has been very useful for me through out my preperation for CSS. Especially, for preparing interview, it was really ueful. However, I am perplexed why some candidates failed to attain as many as were expected woing to their performance. Several candidates have posted their narraiton about their interview, and it seemed that they would achieve extraordinary marks, which they failed to achieve. I would like to invite all members to come out with thier experiences, and reasons of this dilemma. It would be really helpful for future candidates.

@ starz

Wouldn't it be nicer if you come up with your DMS and your experiences first :)

it would be my pleasure to share my DMS, when i get it.

How about the experience and what do you think is the marking criteria?
I suppose they have a number of criteria to judge a candidate at various levels of psych/ interview and your final marks are the net result of all those exercises.

well...i think our marks in the written portion of the exam and our psychological report plays a vital role in the outcome of the interview...most of the questions asked are based on our psychological report.

@Red.Hawk

I agree psych report plays a vital role, but about written marks I am not sure.
Atleast after my own experience : )

In your case there might be a wrong statement passed over by the psychatrist to the interview pannel tahts why your good marks in written portion could not save u from being unlucky in the interview...as far as i have heard from few people, the psychatrists who conduct our psychology tests are not VERY experienced and they usually make WRONG statements ( mis-calculations regarding one's psychae) about the candidates.

however, your observations are genuine.

Well,bro I think you are quite lucky to be on the luckier side...well as far as I and many other candidates are concerned,they suffered at the hands of the psychatrists without any major event during interview or psychology test.

There are no hard and fast rules regarding the marks candidates get in their interviews. I think it all depends on the frame of mind of the panel and the strategy they make before interviewing session commence. Last year the Topper had 230 in his interview but this years topper Miss's Noor Ain Fatima has scored 191 in her interview. Now i do not think that there will be alot of difference in the intellectual and academic capabilities of both. It is just that this year the panel was not inclined towards awarding high marks in the interviews, probably the large number of passed candidates had something to do with it or may be we were not good enough :(, although this seems not to be the case. Last year the average score was around 170-185 but this year it has been around 145-160 and we all can see that there are around 3-4 candidates with same marks. This goes on to show that how that one objective could have made the difference which we missed out due to our negligence or lapse of concentration ( many in my case ).

So there is no dilemma, just prepare as much as you can and leave rest to God. Whatever turns out to be the result it is in our best interest. ( Being Muslims this has to be our faith).
