How is it possible that a 17 grade officer would get a house rent of Rs 1500 only??? there must be some mistake....the house rent should have been 15000.....u might have missed a ZERO

This is a personal perception of that person it might not be the case in reality after all its a 17 Th grade job ,what i asked was to share the privileges of this group i want you to share positive info about OMG.there are positives and negatives of all groups not just OMG.I understand most of us have little info about OMG as it was not active in previous years as other groups are.

well well it seems the omg guys and gals are really curious,i dint have any plans to post in this thread but your restlessness has convinced me to do so

1-omg officers are more often than not posted in islamabad in different ministries.

2-The perks are somewhat limited initially,no car (mostly),not many subordinates to make you feel like an "Afsar"

3-the high ups are demanding and workload of a section officer is the most in a ministry because he or she is the most sensible man in ministry

4-As far housing in concerned ,it is a problem in Islambad,the big wigs have got hold of the large GOR style banglows (I live in one too) and the young officers suffer. .but remeber young do get old and become bigwigs

5-1500 is the amount deducted from your salary if you get an official residence and belive me its nothing for house as big as couple of kanals.House rent is around 15000 if you occupy private residence.

6-Its a neat and clean job,you get to live in Isloo ,the beautiful,that in itself is a perk

7-The job involves a lot of file work and paper pushing

Those omg officers of scale 17 , whodont get official residence or who dont hire official house for them are give an allowance of RS 1500 , However one can avail an official residence (possible through approach) or can hire a private house of rent RS 5000/ .Extra amount more than 5000 is born by the officer from his own pocket. The previous facts which were exposed by me in last thread can not be called as wrong as those have been faced by my elder brother working as an omg officer.
Otherwise , there are many previllages also which we can not neglect like officers can avail scholarships on govt expenses and i am sure 90%of officers avail this oppurtunity.
as omg group has again been started after a gap of 10 years so i expect that 37th commoners will bring a change in it.

I also think that this debate about perks is pretty unnecessary ,you people should enjoy the moment and secondly "Cross the bridge when it comes" life is pretty short and everyvody will get the limited life span be it an omg,dmg,postman (thats me ) or PSP ,etc etc

thanx 4 this usefull thread, i really didnt have the idea about OMG..But now i think many ppl prefrd it as their 4,5 or 6th choice so definitely there wud be somthin in it

Thanks Amna ,yes most of us who have got OMG had it as their 4,5,6th preference which is good.Now its up to us the OMGians of 37 th commons to revive this group and i am sure we will do it ,as Ambrosial Eloquence said it,It has cool ppl in it.O obviously it has lot in it

dear friends first of all congrats to all of u...2ndly i m sorry for undue intrusion...dear friends its honor for all of u to qualify css, u r not less than those in elite groups but its fact that OMG is not match to DMG or Police....iti s human nature that one keeps on framing rosy picture of whatever he is contented with,,,,,its a nice job and hard work may take someones to top but whatever i know in our strong bureautic system DMG is the most cherished one and prvileged... an omgian is not more than a clerk before a civil servant ( i know people personally in both groups),,,,no job should be treated with prejudice but its the scheme of our colonial mindset,,,,,preliminary passion is worth appreciation but u would experience all this right from academy to the corridors of power,,,the purpose of divulging this bitter truth is this to avoid future disallusionments,,,,,
