Well Pay structure of Audit & Accounts,Information,Railways,Postal,DMG, OMG and even FSP when in Pakistan are almost the same. Only Customs & excise group, Commerce & Trade and PSP are having some increased salaries due to their nature of job...

@red.hawk and ali raza

what about the nature and scope of PROs and also what is the domain of power. Thirdly, is there any association or website of information services officers that can shed a light on this. Would it be just an office job or we will have opportunity to work in field.

I have been lucky enough to meet a serving PRO in Ministry of Food,Livestock and agriculture. His previous posting have been with PRO to Ministry of Religious affairs, PRO in PM House and 3rd one is the current one.

As per him the job of the PRO is a very verstile one. The burden of work varies from ministries to ministries. The PROs of Interior,Foreign,Commerce.Housing,Water & Power,Trade Commerce,education,privatization,shipping and cabinet Division have a very heavy load of work. These PROs have to be mobile most of the time.

As fas as field work is concerned , just imagine yourself to be appointed in PM house and travelling with PM around the country and out of the country.One doesnt even have time to scratch one's head. so it has both the office work and the field work. The best thing being a PRO is the CONTACTS developed while serving in the ministry.

Ofcourse once they are posted abroad they are paid in USD but even when they are posted in Pakistan on some seats they make 70K Rupees per month easily coz of the commissions advanced to them by the Government.

(This information is provided by a CEG officer and not a CTG officer so, I would like to cross check this from a CTG serving officer as well)
