it could happen that the number of people improving could be more than than the number who went down on the list. as an example, lets say we have position numbers 10,11,12. and both 11 and 12 happen to have more marks than number 10. then 11 will become 10, 12 will become 11. so 10 will become 12.
so two imporve but one loses his position.
still it is hard to imagine how you could adjust 13 against 266.

my own perception is that all this error has been due to the wrong application of the tie breakers. you people know about the tie breakers?
i think i should start next thread.

teetotaller is an unknown quantity at this point

Suppose position number 30 relegated to position number 70. The 70th will be upgraded to number 69, 69th to 68 and so downwards until the merit number 30. 30th being accommodated at number 70, the merit number of 71 will remain unchanged. that is how one demotion can affect 40 positions in total. Same might happen somewhere in 200s or 300s... Thereby affecting 266 people in its totality. That was not too hard to understand by the way.

Papers checked, interview marks given, they are just adding and compiling the list, they can't change your fate. Trust on Almighty Allah, be cool and wait patiently, everything will be in your favor whether failure or success.

It is very simple to understand. Result is the same, but IT had changed it due to some techinical problem/mistake. So now it is corrected and the correct result shows that from the previous/wrong result that was published, there are 266 who improved their marks, 13 are those with less marks than that displayed on the result on 15th and 616 are the same as before.

So there is no way that a new result is published but actually the result was published incorrectly due to human error.

Therefore, those who worked hard and deserved to be on the merit will be shown on the new merit list instead of those who did not deserved to be on the top of the list but were added mistakenly.
