If you have another chance and you concentrate more on Indo-Pakistan and Islamiat you can certainly get great marks. Here are some suggestions in good faith:

For every day science: Imtiaz Shahid MCQ plus subjective
Islamiat: Again Imtiaz Shahid along with MCQs
Indo-Pakistan Part 1: K. Ali ... From Conquest of Sindh till Aurangzeb Alamgir ( Read every thing and try to remember every thing ). For MCQs Sohail Bhatti will help you in this regard.
Sociology: Hurton and Hurt. This is a great book and read it according to the syllabus. Try to make small notes of what you read and recall it when attempting paper and keep in mind different scenarios in day to day life.

With sligh effort you can improve a lot and score upto 700.

without much preparation like i just gave it a try
same in ir my paper was so so but i got 54:sleep:

I was actually expecting to have failed in a compulsory subject, to my surprise the papers that went the worse in my view, P.A and C.A, scored average, shocking is my score in Journalism, 34, I got 17 MCQs correct, that leaves 17 marks amongst 4 questions...I can not fathom what must have gone wrong since I wrote quite well and considered Journalism as one of my strongest papers.

Geography scores are just okay but Psychology scores again shocked me, I got an average of 15 correct MCQs in both papers yet my scores are 56 and 43..

Over all, I did not fail in any subject but scored less in Optionals, specially those in which I got most correct MCQs as opposed to Geography papers in which I got average 7 MCQs correct.

I am quite confused as to what needs improvement...will appreciate any input by fellow members and qualifiers with same optionals.

What I think is that Journalism has shown UNEXPECTED pattern.. Because I was good at it and Paper went Good.. But!!!
Eng. Comp. has fetched good marks...
