writing style with speed
i mentioned just 4 refrences(ayat/hadit) in whole paper

attempted first question in 1 hour and 20 min.. u can imagine the speed,style and number of pages.... i took 32 pages for just 1st question... it was my best paper i wd say along with punjabi...

presented all schools of thought and never took any side wd any specific school

contrast with west in every para of ans..

thanx farah...well farah in our time paper ws quite General in type and i have put in all the information tht ws relevant.

Also i tried to put few facts and figures and discussed questions in refernce of the sociologist's schools of thought, i followed horton and hunt for the prep and also took help from internet.

and for isl i attempted the paper in urdu:)

Exploring the world of english+ lots of practice of precis writing and expansion...

For EDS kashmiri book+ Earth science and life science by any good publisher+ O-level biology+Daily updates from newspaper for preparing EDS objectives...

And my medium was urdu...

Islami Nazariya-e-hayat by Khurshid Ahmed..
And dear in this paper I quoted approximately 3-4 ayaats, 1-2 ahadith and 5-6 ash'aar...total opinion-based answers diye, apni rae ajkal k dour k hisaab se...

My approach was a "revisionist" one...rational, realistic and confident

Stunner you must have observed that optionals like journalism and Indopak history were thrashed by the checkers this year...Unfortunately I am also given punishment for opting them at a wrong time:)...

For geography I accept that my attempt was not up-to-the-mark of 150, so I got what I deserved...

And I think in sociology I did pretty well yar:)

Nothing can be predicted about it.
Its paper is mostly very general type of.
What I think is that you should prepare rest of the
subjects and for journalism wait for the result of 2011 written.
That result would determine its nature.
Journalism is not a big deal at all.
It can be prepared in a month time.
As well as I am concerned, I was so disappointed with my result of
journalism in 2010 that I said sweet good by to it
and opted Punjabi in its place.
And I am much satisfied with my decision.
But I would suggest you to wait and see the result of 2010 written.[/COLOR][/I][/B]

Candidguy my journalism paper went superb, all objectives correct...i wrote updated material from internet...attempted all 4 questions...for me it was a balanced attempt...

so much so k mein ye soch raha tha k agr mein dubara journalism ka paper deta hu kbhi to ic se better to kbhi nahi kr saku ga!

[B]Comments: [/B]I would say that whereas I am humbled and at the same time thankful to God a thousand times for this success, I am not completely happy at my performance in written. I think, I partly know the reason, especially for the pathetic performance in English Essay paper. I had begun jotting down the text of essay when after writing down two pages, I realized that I had not drawn up the outline. So I veered the essay at that point to include an outline after two pages of text, and then resumed the essay afterwards again. I know, it is a really really strange essay format that I cooked up at that moment (almost ridiculous), but nevertheless the examiner had mercy on me, probably by reading the rest of the essay which I would modestly claim, fared good. :happy:

But I got excellent marks in the interview which enabled me to secure a really good merit position. I have yet to confirm, but the FPSC guy told me my interview marks were certainly in the top 1 or 2 scores.

I attempted Islamiyat in english medium..

MCQs attempted in 5 mints... concentrated on 1st question in details....

every question was based on intro, issue, comparision & contrast with other religions, 1 quote(rarely), analysis,
I took no side with any school of thought but gave version of Hanfi, Shia and western ideas...

My basic understanding of paper was based on Dr. Israr and Modudi's view though....

one thing is for sure that islamic paper nedds modern approach.. i mean examiner wants us to tell Solutions of problems under today scenario....and i was a bit lucky in giving the solutions as Dr. Israr's lectures were apt in thois regard...

My top position in LLB islamic jurisprudence paper as well as teaching at my Law college also proved a bit helpful, i must say...

i gave headings as well.like
introduction,
present scenario,
causes of problems,
solution
recommendations etc...

my writing style & speed a bit helpful as ell...

so collectively u can say its mixture of all above

but last but not the least Parents prayers and Allah's Blessings were the hallmark in my score.... :)[/B][/COLOR]

I used past paperz to enlist which are important topics and then put them in order of priority by keeping the most repeated above and least at the end. One thing, i actually attempted questions of General Nature in paper(Drug,education,poverty problems) rather than bookish questions (e.g, social solidarity, collective bahavior etc).... N for these general question u must be good in ur current affairs and amount of knowledge

I used books by [COLOR="Purple"]Alex thew, Horton hunt[/COLOR] and internet helped me in making outlines of questions....I cudn't make my detailed notes bcz i appeared in v short time so i never had time to do so yet i prepared short points on my books.....gandi ho jayengy buks but it saves time.......Now let me elaborate in detail how i went for que.....For instance, i remember what i wrote in a short note of Drug abuse in Socio paper, i gave all details regarding drug addiction, popular areas, where it hails from and effects, law enforcing agencies concern regaridn this and finally when i saw i still had 1 minute....I drew a map from Helmand(Helmand is the world's largest opium-producing province, i guess it supplies 42 pcnt of the world and Afghanistan supplies 90 pcnt of the whole world)to ......All imp areas from where drug is trafficked like chain.....
