3. Or baat doosri taraf ja rahi ha k cadre strength ki baat to ha hi nahi. there is point k IRS or PCS? U can opt IRS (if it developed so rapidly) after joining PCS. but it will be really difficult after joining IRS and then to PCS. So currently PCS is a better option. Ku k abhi aap ne ja k BS-17 man lagna ha. or IRS k paas koi well developed infrastructures (facilities) nahi han. lek wohi facilities customs walon ko aram se mil jati han. 8-10 years Customs man raho BS-19 tak puhancho, facilities enjoy karo phr agar dil chahta ha (or khud dekho realities ko) to IRS k darwaze to har waqt khule han. lekn IRS k future se expectations laga kr suhane khuwab dekhna k ye hojaega ye hojaega is not a good thing.
4. Let the people decide which thing is right. We should not impose our opinions on the people.

i,ll add smthing more that all PARTICULAR PERKS N PRIVILEDGES,FACILITIES,EXTRA BENIFITS ENJOYED BY CUSTOMS OFFICERS WERE NEVER BCOS OF EXCISE OR SALES TAX.....THEY R BCOS OF CUSTOM DUTIES ( ITS A MATTER OF COMMOM SENSE AND OBSERVATION NO NEED TO READ ONLY BOOKISH DATA)....SO TAKING AWAY EXCISE AND SALES TAX WILL NOT AFFECT MUCH.

I am proud to b a CSP Officer Sir at leat i am not Mr. Sandhurst (anonymous). any way i am feeling its just useless to argue with u as well. its last my last reply to u Sir..

i,ve clearly mentioned my viewpoint(practicle and realistic u,ll c this trend in 2010 allocation as well)...rest everybody must consult MANY SERVING CONCERNED PPL instead of relying on FBR WEBSITE.....kahin aisa na ho k impressive cadre strength daikh k ap DMG KO AVOID NA KR JAYEN....
no more viewpoints 4m my side.

Why were you misleadingly attributing a link to me from the fbr website which was not working? You don't need to fall to that level.

Thanks greenhorn for the correct link. The FBR website is much more reliable than some old newspaper stories since unlike other Departments it provides all gazette notifications on its website which are sent to the Printing Corporation of Corporate for publication in the official gazette. I am not sure what you were trying to expose here? i.e. whether the notification I uploaded can be verified from the FBR website or something else?

One must not avoid DMG on the basis of impressive cadre strength of IRS. Undoubtedly, at present both DMG and PSP are better than IRS and this appears to be the trend for the foreseeable future. My argument is restricted to the comparison between IRS v. PCS. I just mentioned the cadre strength in BS-21 of IRS because at this stage no other group has so many BS-21 seats as IRS. DMG being the elite service which it is, may try to create more BS-21 seats at provincial level and may again have the highest number of BS-21 seats.

I am a qualifier of CSS-2010.after reading the preferences of different candidates and the exuberantly useful thread "True Picture of MLCG" i have decided to reshuffle my preference of occupational groups.please give me useful advice.
i am convinced that MLCG is the best group.i request all the CSPs belonging to MLCG to please pray for my success.Moreover,i wonder when MLCG is at top why don't candidates put it at first merit?

1-MLCG
2-OMG
3-IG(because you remain in direct contact with ministers)
4-IRS
5-CEG
6-Police
7-DMG
8-FSP
9-POSP
10-Railways
11-CTG
