Thank you for your well wishes bhai. Actually I didn’t have any strategies. Like I mentioned, I started studying 2 days before exam and even that for the essay paper and I didn’t study at all for the précis and composition paper. I only chose 5 topics for the essay paper and did in depth research on those topics. I studied for the rest of the papers during the gaps. I am very thankful to Allah that I had retained whatever I studied during the 2009 attempt therefore it was easy for me to prepare for the papers in a short time. So I had no time management strategy or routine as such. What I did was to study only the topics from the past 10 year’s papers.

However mere bhai I would not advise such irresponsible behavior and I do not condone my actions. I had no other choice because my head of department (very maliciously) didn’t allow me to study and plied me with work. I had nothing to lose, therefore I took a gamble (and I thank god that it worked). My lack of preparation however made me overconfident and that’s why I did take a lot of expressive liberty. I would also like to mention that this forum helped me a lot and some of the suggestions and tips by the seniors are very helpful.

So, my advice to you would be to study thoroughly but refrain from studying extra topics that you think have less chance of coming in the exams. I would also advise u to select subjects with gaps in between as this is very necessary. Also, please do look around the forum as you’ll find a lot of help and useful tips.

I hope my rant is helpful for you.

At the risk of sounding like a killjoy, i would like to advise the written qualifiers to kinda keep a low profile till the final result..Its all very well to assist juniors as they often solicit the qualifiers for guidance..but the hard truth is that vacancies are almost always less than the number of people who qualify..and not many people attach much importance to the pearls of wisdom by unallocated people..and then it gets REALLY embarrassing
trust me, i know (once upon a time i missed allocation by a whisker)

i hope i am not declared persona non grata it was a heartfelt gesture..

very nice and thanks a lot for suggestion. but still i want to share my gut feeling, i think qualifying css written part is itself an achievement as only 9% aspirants do so on an average. secondly if you share your strategy with others and if by doing so someone gets only one extra mark in css exam, i think your task is done for sure. we are not claiming like if we are going to top the exam or we are the supernatural people here, but what we are trying to illustrate is the different approach to css exam. many will not agree to this but many will take at least some benefit from our discussions here. i wish everyone a very best of luck and i pray for them to become csp inshaALLAH.

Thanks and regards
