you have v good score in eds 2009.do not knw what is your score in 2010. I was confidant abt eds. Because i drew diagrams, labelled them even micro scope,telescope, cell structure animal cell and plant cell,green house effect ,global warming ke diagram, isomer ko formulaes ce explain kya bt me istope likhna bhol gae .any ways pap bht explantory th wd diagram. Me ne extra sheet tak le .jo ke koe nae leta phr b marks 58 . How ? Mcqz 41 plus thek th ya 41 why . Mery 20marks kahan gae. I bought Faisal Jappa book, is it enough? I am a professional engineer so i dont have much time to read many books. Moreover i dont have punjabi background but like most of Pakistanis i can speak and understand punjabi. Problem arises in reading and writing. Reading is not a big problem from exam point of view as you only have to understand the question and then answer accordingly. But main problem is writing punjabi. What do you suggest should i follow the classical style or whatever style but message should be clear in a descent way?

I scored 75 and 60 in EDS in CSS 2008 and 2010 respectively. This time, EDS examiner seemed to be really strict in marking because many candidates got around 40 or even more mcqs correct but their scores were in 50s or 60s. I have seen only one DMC so far with more than 70 marks in EDS (72). Your score was not that bad cosidering this trend. Also, you should not worry as trend in a compulsory subject affects every one alike and there is no undue discrimination with any one. I hope with such good preparation and techniques which you have mentioned about preparation of EDS, you may score around 80 in your next attempt. Try to be very specific in answering short question like 'differentiate between two terms sort of question' in EDS. i.e. if you are asked a 2 marks question to differentiate between microscope and periscope. You should only wrote 2 to 3 lines for each and there is no need to draw diagram considering only 2 marks of question. Similarly try to attempt such question which may give you full marks like abbrivations, differntiations etc.

Faisal Jappa's book is good one. It will be sufficient for you considering short time remaining in exam. Most candidates opting punjabi usually never have any writing experience prior to CSS but perform really well, so this is not a problem. Most of the punjabi words are same as of urdu so you may write it easily. If you know some pure Punjabi words, do write otherwise you may use urdu word. Modern Punjabi is free style punjabi with many urdu words so no need to worry. I would advise you to visit Punjabi thread on this forum. Many a piece of advice about attempting the paper is available there.
