What is your reason of failure in CSS 2012?

Hello everyone, first of all heartiest congratulations to all those who cleared CSS-2012 and a very best of luck for the upcoming interview. As for the successful candidates they will surely share their success stories sooner or later here. But my questions is for the other part of the candidates.

My question here is for all those who unfortunately could not qualify the exam this time! What do you consider to be the reason of failure for your in exam? And what tips would you like to give the 2013 aspirants and things which you would want the aspirants to avoid in CSS Exam?

Before we lose most of you in the winds of time, I would like to take opputunity to get benefit from your experience. Your suggestions and tips would be most welcome.

Thank you!

Well its not that easy to answer becoz fpsc hasnt announced the scores yet ..so after few days i will get the clearer picture...my tips to frnds would be go through questions repetitively coz every time u read question it will give u more understanding and different dimensions...a Single word would change the angle n details of the answers... Will evaluate myself after seeing my scores..

Aur haan its not a bad time to ask ... I :D:Dcongratulate candidates who have been through written stage and welll wishes for the interview...Those who didnt make it just absorb the shock and prepare to ROCK...

Well I can blame my luck as i haven't any idea about the scores. Selection of optional subjects is very critical, they must be selected with utmost care and consultation. I opted for IR in 2012 attempt which was a huge mistake probably a blunder and i think i might be failed in that paper. But its an assumption, ..i shall share my DMS in this thread as soon as i get it.
thanx for starting this thread, it will help many.
Regards

may be it was my job and that is why did gave 100% and a bit of luck with optionals

1- I made selection of optional subjects without proper consideration of syllabus
2- I failed to realize the need to make writing practice especially essay writing .
3- CSS needs smart studies but I went for a bit hard studies
4- Lack of determination
5- And most importantly it was my hard luck
6- Part of my failure should be attributed to facebook, funny but true.

Thought I did everything, hard work, smart work, wise selection of subjects and was extremely confident after giving the examination. Alas! I could not make it. 2013 will be my second attempt, it will also be my last because of age restriction.

DMS will make the picture clearer and I will be able to know where more efforts are needed.

@Mommy, will you be appearing in 2013 as well? I am a mother myself and need a study partner, if only to meet the deadlines I intend to set for myself in preparing for next attempt.

Dear Fellows

I was 254th in CSS 2011 and could not get allocation. Now i went with the same subjects and this time i failed. CSS is one of the most unpredictable exams, so it will be hard to pin point the exact reasons for anyone.

People with smart studies do it and alot of them dont do it. Same is the case with those who do hard studies. Subject selection is important but that would affect the final merit list more than the written result. Usually it is the compulsory that one fails in. Very few would fail an optional.

My word for all you who now plan for another attempt is to follow the basics, study as much as you can. Make timelines and follow them. Those who are on jobs i would suggest donot leave ypur job for CSS. Work hard within the time that you have, a bird in hand is batter than two on the bush.

Try your best and leave the rest on Allah. Nature has a plan for you and if being CSP is what it wants of you then whatver your approach be you will become one and if it aint that way then trust me you will reach almost there and yet not be there :) Good luck to all the future aspirants.

3-Could not remember facts and figures when attempting paper.
4- I think breakfast was also a reason which i did not do in whole exams...these exams require energy
