Quantitative Self Evaluation CSS 2015
As the announcement of result creeps closer I am tempted to reflect on my attempt and conduct a quantitative self evaluation. My goal is to be able to compare my own standards with that of the examiners (after the announcement of results) so that I have a better understanding of what is required for any future attempts.
The following self evaluation is based on a thorough examination of the questions that I attempted as well as the answers that I committed to my answer booklets. CSS 2015 Essay. 40. Précis. 55. Everyday Science. 60. Current Affairs. 50. Pakistan Affairs. 50. Islamiat. 50. Compulsory total = 305. Percentage = 51% Journalism. 55. Sociology. 65. Psychology I. 75. Psychology II. 50. Geography I. 75. Geography II. 60. Optionals total = 380. Percentage = 63% Grand total = 685. Percentage = 57% I encourage others to share their self-evals before the announcement of results as well. Consider it an exercise in caliberating yourself to the requirements of the examiners. |

Essay 40 (not sure if I am gonna pass this one)
English precis and comp. 55 Islamiat 55 Pak Affairs 50 Current Affairs 48 EDS 65 Total marks compulsory: 313 Euro. History 45+48=93 Punjabi 65 Agriculture 60 Psychology 68+52=120 Total marks optionals: 338 313+ 338=651 grand total P. S In my opinion, self-evaluation as we are doing here is totally useless/pointless. There is no criterion or benchmark for the examiners to award marks on an objective basis. It is completely dependent on their whims, which makes it extremely unpredictable. You might get lowest in which you expected highest and vice versa. Telling you all of this by personal experience. |
I have done this all my life on excel sheet. And it has always been useless. Difference examiners, their moods and other factors (like instructions) are unknown to us which play a vital role in the end result. I think we should concentrate on praying. And after praying on what to do, both in case of passing it or failing it.

It might turn out to be an exercise in futility but there is no disincentive here. Good luck. |
Well, I am in no position to do complete analysis but I had 19 out of 20 correct MCQs' in Precis exam, I have read fiduciary a thousand times but could not remember exactly but may be what I guessed was right too, so I got 20 by 20 in MCQs'.
The hard part: I don't know if I am going to get remaining 20 out of the rest 80. Then comes Islamiyat. When in 2014, 90 percent flunked Islamiyat, I had 78, whatayexam it was. And now it was all ratta, so I pretty much wrote gibberish how I see it. Hanging by a thread I guess. |
In my first attempt, I got 659 with average preparation and then 621 in second attempt with good preparation. Now I don't want to guess for third attempt because preparation was a lot better than that of the previous ones.
