I was in the same situation as you're in right now, and sir sayed helped me out in selection of optionals. Whatever he told me, I'm quoting

"usually aspirants go for subjects like Geography, Psychology, Histories (BH, European Hist, USA Hist, ISlamic, Indo Pak), Sociology, Journalism, Regional languages etc.
When selecting subjects, both interest in the subject as well as the scoring trend should be accounted for, but scoring trend thing should take precedence because it matters.
At least 400 marks' subjects should be the ones which normally fetch high scores. For the remaining 200, you can go with what interests you.
My suggestion for subjects is
1- Select a history subject worth 200 marks. Three histories- Indo Pak, British and Islamic- are quite scoring and in my opinion you should go with one of these. Which one to go for depends on which appeals you. Level of expertise required in Indo Pak though is much higher because of Ghar-Ki-History-thing. They expect you to be reallllly good at it.
2- Choose 2, 100 marks subjects. The scoring ones, plus easy to comprehend, are Journalism, Public Ad, punjabi and sociology to some extent. Pushto scores were awful in 2012. If you are not a Punjabi then I would recommend Journalism and Public Ad, and if public ad does not suit you then go for sociology maybe.
3- Arabic and Persian are highly scoring. Even if you start from scratch you can prepare it well. Persian is very easy, syllabus is compact, and yields even better scores than Arabic
4- If you are not ok with option 3 then another option is either geography or psychology. Geography scores have been moderate to low lately. As of psychology, it is a curious case. It has been scoring as of now, but result of 2013 is not yet out, so tough to say how it fares in 2013. The perception is that it might be on low scoring side. In my opinion it would be wise to wait for 2013's written result to make the final decision. If it remains low scoring, which will be the first time ever, then it will not be very prudent to go with psychology in 2014"

Dear Fakhar,

You have much time for preparation so you should opt the subjects which are scoring , i think farbia suggested good combination to you. I am appearing in 2014 and my subjects are Persian, Islamic History & Culture, Journalism and Punjabi. These all subjects are scoring and you can prepare these subjects very well till 2015. Business Add is also a good option.

dunno about business administration. no idea. I am becoming a software engineer but I'm not selecting CS as my optional because course is way too long.
