1. I am coming, I'm practically finished. (or I'm almost done.)

2. Please remind me to bring some cakes.

3. They robbed a bicycle of him.

4. He wrote short/less because he had very little paper.

5. He told a lot [of] lies, and then went without saying goodbye. ('saying goodbye to me' is optional I guess?)

6. You are very pale [or 'you look pale' since it seems it is not a permanent condition of the subject], what did you have this morning?

7. We always win against your team in cricket.
We always beat your team in cricket.

@Chaynb: You're quite close from getting full marks. Have a look at your sentences once again.

Thanks for participating Here's the solution :

Question : 3
Answers:

1.I'm coming; I am almost/ nearly finished
Explanation : Practically means in a practical manner or in practice.
Example :Theoretically it seems right but practically it does not work.

2. Please remind me to bring some cakes.
Explanation : Remember means to have in mind; remind means to make
one remember.

3. They stole a bicycle from him.
Explanation : The object of steal is the thing taken by the thief, e.g, a
bicycle, jewellery, money. The object of rob is the person or place from
whom or which the thing is taken, e.g, a millionaire, a house, a bank.

4. He wrote briefly because he had very little paper.
Explanation : Shortly refers to time, and briefly to manner. Example: I will
write shortly(soon); and I will write not briefly but fully.

5. He told a lot of lies, and then went without saying goodbye to me.
Explanation: Tell means to give information(the truth, lies, stories, the
time) or to calculate, to distinguish or to order.
Say is used for actual words as they are spoken, or for their meaning in
indirect speech.

6. You are very pale; what is the matter with you this morning?
Explanation : What have you is used to inquire about what one has, and
not in, what condition one is.

7. We always beat your team at cricket.
Explanation : Win is to gain something for which you have tried (a prize,
approval, a game, a battle); beat is to overcome an opponent, e.g., The
girls beat the boys and won a golden cup.

@Chaynb : http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/le...earnitv8.shtml

This might be of some help to you. Another explanation is:"in" is somewhat more appropriate for a subject or field of study, and "at" is somewhat more appropriate for a skill or activity.

If I come across a better explanation, I shall share it with you but I am quite sure that when you specify a game's name, you use "at" with it.
For example, I am good at volleyball,
I am good at badminton.

Similarly, you never say, "who is in the door?". You say, "who is at the door?".
Another example: She was sitting "at" the table("not on the table" unless the person is actually sitting on the table), when I entered the main café. These are the standard forms so I'll recommend you to learn your prepositions by heart. Hope to have answered your question, remember me in prayers, thank you.

Now.. Techniques of Motivation

Well, there is no definite answer to it, or is it?

It could be anything for anyone, whatever rings your bell..

however, I believe the first thing that should be outlined is your Goal.

Achievable goal will keep you motivated ( textbook - I know )

A strategy or a roadmap designed for achieving that Goal also helps you stay motivated.

Keep thinking about the end or lets say results i.e. why you even begin to work on anything, there must be a reason, jot it down. tell yourself about it.

Any problems on the way, face them head on, no procrastination.

Avoid those who will discourage you. Don't let them get into your head.

Stay focused.

While working on your plan, help yourself with perks when you get to your milestones. ( Buy yourself a candy - or a new sports car, whatever suits you )

Yeah, that's about it from me.
Above written things are mostly textbook and some personally tried.

@ Husnain : Yes, you were quite close as far as question 3 is concerned and thanks for sharing the techniques. I really liked the point, - "end result method" and also the other points after it. Thanks again.
