Passed or Failed?

CE 2015 rule.
QUALIFYING MARKS IN WRITTEN EXAMINATION.
A candidate who fails to secure at least 40% marks in any of the compulsory subjects, 33% marks in any of the optional subjects, 50% marks in the Aggregate will be considered to have failed in written examination.

keeping in view aforementioned rule, for instance, in GK subject, lets say I got 120+ marks in this following manner, will they consider me pass or fail?
Gk1: 60
Gk2: 35
Gk3: 30
total 125 marks.
Pass or fail?

Geography1: 34
Geography2: 32
Pass or Fail?

Seniors/Moderators please clarify. Thanks.

Not sure about the compulsory subjects but for optionals I think it is the total marks for both papers. So 34+32=66 would still be considered a pass.

The said rule says that you need 40% marks in each compulsory paper to get through.
As G.K is a single subject consisting of 3 parts you need 120 marks as a whole to qualify this subject. For instance you get the following marks.
Gk 1 :30
Gk 2: 30
GK 3 : 70
your total marks are now 130 so you are pass although you fail to get 40 % in GK 1 and 2.
Now in case of optionals you need to secure 33% marks in every subject may it be paper 1 or 2 as in your case
Geography 1: 34
Geography 2: 32
you will be designated as fail in geography part 2 paper although you are able to get 33% marks overall.
