Default Changes in CE 2012! Syllabus and more.

Changes in syllabus: a plea to FPSC
:
THE news that the FPSC is going to make amendments to the syllabus of the CSS 2012 examinations has spread likewildfire. However, the authorities concerned have not acknowledged or rejected the news. The syllabus is issued in December every year and examinations are held in February or March. If drastic changes introduced in the syllabus of optional or compulsory subjects are announced in December, candidates will have only three months to prepare accordingly. This is a very short time to prepare for any competitive examinations. Aspiring candidates of CSS 2012 are facing a dilemma. I have called the FPSC many times but received
no satisfactory or reliable response.

The FPSC chairman should clarify his stance as early as possible. Moreover, any amendments, if made, should be notified to enable students time to prepare. Moreover, the website maintained by the FPSC is not updated. Past papers of only CSS 2008 are available. I request the authority concerned to update the site and ensure the availability of at least past 10 years` papers.

MOHAMMED SAAD Islamabad

Changes in syllabus: a plea to FPSC
From the Newspaper (21 December, 2010)
THIS is apropos of the letter
‘ Changes in syllabus: a plea to
FPSC’ by Mohammed Saad (Dec
16). I endorse the writer’s
views that the Federal Public
Service Commission has been
secretly deliberating on
various policies, but now it is
time it came clean and
brought its future policies to
light so that CSS aspirants —
who until now have been kept
in the dark — could take a
sigh of relief, especially those
who have been expecting the
long-awaited move regarding
the upper-age limit extension.
It should be noted that in all
developed countries there is no
age restriction for appearing in
their civil service examinations.
I request the FPSC chairman,
Justice (Rtd) Rana Bhagwandas,
to set the basic qualification as 16
years of education for CSS
examinations. He should also
simultaneously extend the upper
age limit by five years as a general
age relaxation. Moreover, he should
renew the syllabus for CSS 2012.
This way we will have better,
more competent people coming
forward to take part in the
administrative services.

Plea for CSS age relaxation
(December 23, 2010).

IT was former president
Pervez Musharraf who
reduced the upper age limit
for CSS examinations from 30
years to 28 years on the plea
that only young people should
appear in CSS examinations.
What an irony! Candidates
remained young ,according to his
vision, till only 28 years . By
reducing the age limit to 28 years,
he not only deprived many, many
candidates, with the lower middle
class background, of an
opportunity to compete in the
examinations but also knocked out
democratic rights of the people by
implementing his self-made policies.
I would like the prime minister, as
well as the Chairman of the FPSC,
to review age relaxation policy of
the CSS and extend it to 30 to32
years because there are
thousands of candidates who
have been affected by the policy.
ALI AKHTAR.

Default Aspirants want css age limit raised

Aspirants want CSS age limit
raised
From the Newspaper Dawn (Jan 9).

MANY CSS aspirants have
been in a quandary due to
the inaction of the incumbent
government regarding the
CSS age limit extension.
In developed countries there are
no age discrimination rules for civil
services examinations but, unlike
developed nations, in Pakistan the
privilege of age relaxation is
reserved only for the candidates
belonging to certain areas while
those candidates who apply on
open merit are deprived of it.
Why is it always the open merit
that becomes the ultimate victim
when it comes to competence and
competitiveness?
I request President Asif Ali Zardari,
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani
and FPSC Chairman Justice (Retd)
Rana Bhagwandas to abolish the
discriminatory age
laws and raise the age limit to 32
years and basic qualifications to 16
years of education for CSS
examinations.

Default At last

So, at last, finally........ we should not be hopefull for the age relaxation in the upper limit.........

Establishment Division did what it can do.......... now it seems that the only way left now to solve the issue is by a request from some political leader close to prime minister or president on this matter.

If some members have a political background... they should raise this issue at that platform and perhaps this way many others will be benefited.

regards,

Default That is outdated News

The part of the urdu news given above is as old as November 2008 when Cabinet had rejected the proposal forwarded by the Establishment and it could be found at the following link:
Daily Times - Leading News Resource of Pakistan

There is no recent rejection of any proposal and its expected of the government and the FPSC to bring positive changes in the age limit as well as syllabus and examination system.

regards,
assalam alaekum! with due respect to all the aspirants regarding the age relaxation:
i think the rule regarding age is quite feasible, because the science proves it that as the age increases the ability to read, learn, and to be vibrant in affairs diminishes. As it is a competitive examination, i think it is best suited at the competitive age which is already in practice, and it gives a hefty amount of service to any individual coming into this service who retires at the age of 60. the more u provide the upper age limit, the lesser u r giving him time to serve his nation at his fullest.

Default Age and abilities

Its good that science has proved that a person's mental abilities diminish with the increase in age. Now we know why our president and prime minister and all the corrupt federal ministers have been acting like idiots by virtue of being in their 40s, 50s and 60s.

The generalization and reductionist application of the supposed research are as coherently applied as they are meant to convince your own self of their validity mate!
