Troubling News
 

Guys.This news is very troubling fr me as I was aiming fr ce-2012.CSS 2012 would be my last chance age wise and Im still not a master degree holder(My LLB will be completed next year.If they upgrade age as well as qualification I will not be able to appear before 2013.It means another 2 years will be wasted I turn 29 by that time.I pray that there may be increase in age but qualification.

What if a 2011 candidate wants to reappear in 2012 ?

I do understand the pressure felt by many of my fellow friends. But why are you taking this change against your personal self? If FPSC makes any change in the pattern of examination, it will be applied equally for everyone. As soon something goes little against one's wish, one tries to cry like a baby, for having a last chance or etc...

We all want Pakistan to be a better place, and we all want every institution to be stronger and transparent as well as on merit. Just prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Relax guys, don't panic. The fpsc clarification shouldn't be a troubling news for anyone. If they make amends and raise minimum qualification to 16 years of education then consequently upper age limit too will have to go up to 30 or 32 years-- giving enough time to all the Bachelors degree holders to do their Masters. And don't complain about that because at the end its success that matters and not how much time did it get to be successful. Succeding in 2013 and getting your top favorite group is better than appearing in 2012 and falling into lower groups or failing it all..
and changes will hopefully take effect from 2012 because when musharraf reduced age limit back in 2001 then it took effect from the same year, candidates didn't had to wait for two years for the changes to be implemented.
Raising basic qualification will have good long term effects on society in general and the literacy rate; students will not stop acquiring education at the Bachelors level rather they will move on to do their Masters, then even if most of them won't clear css still it will help them a lot in other fields in the country and abroad. It is a fact that there is a distinct difference between BA and MA students.
Just pray that no matter what changes fpsc or the government bring to the syllabus or age criteria or whatever, that you succeed in the end. Only that matters! Nothing succeeds like success.

FPSC Clarification
 

REFERENCE letters by M. Saad & Kamran Khan Ghouri (December 16 and December 21, 2010 respectively) regarding amendments being made by FPSC in the scheme and syllabus for the central superior services examination for the year 2012.
It is clarified to all prospective candidates of the CSS that the amendments regarding the scheme, including syllabus of the competitive examinations, are under consideration of the commission and will be finalized well in time in consultation with the training institutes of the occupational groups/services and academia. After approval of the government, the new scheme/syllabus will be notified and will be given wide publicity through the media.
All prospective candidates are assured that the revised scheme and syllabus for the CSS will be notified much before the date for submission of application forms for CSS 2012 and will be placed on the website:

We may have some idea about qualification and age limit but it will be fruitless to guess about distribution of marks between compulsory and optional subjects. The situation will only become clear when FPSC announces the new policy.

according to sources,
there will be NO change in qualification and age limit, because it is long discussion.
second, FPSC can change two subjects and Development Economics and Public Administration will be added to compulsory.
U will hear it in Maybe Before 6 month advertisement.

Wouldn't adding Development Economics as compulsory skew the score for compulsory subjects in favour of those who've studied economics previously?

If FPSC decides to add DE then they might as well add Computer Science because in this day and age,being computer literate is more a NECESSITY than a luxury.

The point is that it isn't going to help if they go on adding to the list of compulsory subjects.If the idea is to broaden the perspective of candidates,there are other ways of doing so.Its going to be hard on most candidates to make sense out of economics when they haven't studied it at any point in their educational years.
