I one thousand percent agree with you. We don't need old and slow dudes to join CSS. Today they need 35, tomrrow they will need it to increase to 40 and so on and so forth. Where will it end? What is the reason behind age increment anyway? Is there a shortage of skilled young people in this country? - NO there is not.

The average age to pass graduation is just 22 years old in this country and 24 for honors. And the age limit is 28! It is not government's fault that some people were sleeping to pass graduation at an early age or were too mentally handicapped that they probably needed to re-take classes. Whatever the reason, its not anyone's fault.

This is only a trick by civil government to install their corrupt henchmen on strategic positions through CSS and they are the only one propagating age increment, there is no other reason behind this. Only to facilitate corruption as the elections are appearing near.

We all reject and strongly oppose this corrupt move by government's boot-lickers. I am also in favor for increasing 2nd division to 1st division as a prerequisite for CSS like it is for all other services of Pakistan so only bright and intelligent should be allowed to sit. The whole idea of CSS is to select top most cream, then why allow 2nd class graders/divisioners to sit in the exam in the first place? And i am sure if that was to happen, the number of people appearing in exams would only be 2000 per year :haha

If a person passes his matriculation at the age of 15, he can hold 16 years degree at the age of 21. I am not against age relaxation, because it will increase the competition and only the best will come forward to serve the country. But not 35 .. it should be only 30 max.

I do not completely agree with Captain but I think age limit should only be 30 not 35 years.

like Armed forces commission there is age limit for 24 for long servise commission having inter and graduation and short service cmmission upto 30 and 35 for master degree holder

To dear fellows: The petition is pogressing in LHC and soon we will have the good news. Of course no one knows better than the jury weather age relaxation is good or not for Pakistan. So lets put our trust in the supreme judiciary what they decide.so long fellas

Agreed brother. Their should be different age limits for the following categories.

[B]14 years of education (28 years)
16/17 years of education. Engineering/MBBS/Law/4-Year BS graduates (30 years)
18 years of education. MS/M.Phil (32 years)
PhD/Post Doc/FCPS etc[/B] (35 years)

The idea is very good that the age limit will increase with the increase in education so that students don't stop at bachelors degree but instead move up the education ladder and that way we will have highly educated people in every CSS cadre.
But right now there is no mentioning of such a demand in the filed petition which only focuses on the discriminating point thatCSS should be brought at par with the other federal government exams I have already mentioned in a previous post of mine which demand mostly a masters degree and award age limit as far as 35 years. Keeping that in view the age limit of 28 years for CSS sound ridiculous and should be extended up to 33 years for candidates applying on the open merit while 35 years for the government servants. The road map you have suggested really holds water and hopefully with a better government and commission members it will find approval. A Bachelor degree is no more enough and students should not stop their education career at that but rather move on towards the higher education and only that way they can see things in the bigger and more enlightened perspective. The tragedy of or country is that only 10 percent people have studied beyond matriculation and out of those ten percent those who are holding higher degrees in various subjects and fields are not allowed to take the exam of civil services.

Well done Comrad of Che. You sound a real comrad of mine. Very true that it is double dhamal and deserves fireworks because opposition has made the cause strong. It eas un the face of great opposition that Some guys came forward and with letters to newsppwrs and petitions in the court gave it a solid shape.

Without STAY ORDER, case will go nowhere. There are thousands of cases which are waiting for reply( or comments) from concerned department. Please keep in mind that the Chairman of FPSC is a Justice ( Retd ) so there are little chances that Court will take any strong step against FPSC as Judges of Supreme Court & High Courts have great respect for him being a noble name of Judiciary. Second , there is a basic flaw in the petition. FPSC is not responsible for the age limit. It was the Government of Pervez Musharraf who brought the new age limit in year 2000. In last 12 years, three or four times, summary has been sent to Government by FPSC for restoration of old age limit but has been rejected by governments including the present Government. Hence, FPSC is not Comeptent Authority but the Federal Government. Therefore, Secretary Cabinet Division should be made Respondent in the case on behalf of Federal Government. FPSC will be second Respondent to refrain from conducting CSS Exam till decision of case.
