Some of personal experiences

Guys I had taken many interviews in the market
One thing common in all these experiences was usually a long wait before calling infront of the interview panel.
My interview never started at the due time though I was instructed to be as punctual as possible
The rationale behind was to assess the patience and also to unnerve the candidate; it is believed in the cooperative world that it is also a way the check the composure (or perturbed state) of the candidate in hours of crisis
Does this practice also prevails in CSS interviews

Respected member every exam , every interview is taken under a specific agenda They are meant to assess the most suited candidate . I guess this is the principle objective of any interview

I seek the seniors advice as to guide us on the focal points of our preperation
I admit the previous interviews are indeed a most valuable guide but every one has to go through his own experience ( Though i already read them many times)

I dont think the question would be repeated though they certainly provide us the inputs about the essential traits of a CSP ( Honesty, Integrity and leadership  ) Anyhow thanks for your sincere concerns I appreciate your empathy and also looking forward for your valuable inputs.

I also invite the other aspirants to give their views ( A kind of brain storming i guess ) What are their experiences and how they are preparing for interviews

Please i only seek the wisdom of others

Don’t be apologetic ever. You are seeking information. A person who seeks knowledge actually preaches wisdom
I read in the interview section that the interview books are not helpful if you try to cram them
They are meant for market demand any filled with useless crap
I agree It is ironical that had provided tips to my younger brother in his ISSB He is right now in Risalpur An officer in training , becoming an aeronautical engineer But here i seek others advice ( and i am proud of it)
I think being original , honest and showing a golden heart along with your devotion to your self is the key to be successful in any arena
You dont have to portray cheap patriotism( Pakistan is the greatest country in the world. India , America are afraid of pakistan and its awsome might and stuff like that) , For a CSP you need to have the wisdom of current economic and political situation and show how equipped you are if you are entrusted with the responsibility to do some service to the nation. How much useful you could be if you are given a responsible position .
I hope i am preparing in the right way (I dont intend to hide my views and opinion abt the current political situation and who in my opinion is responsible for such plight of my nation Read my post)

PLZ CAN ANY ONE POUR IN SOME COMPREHENSIVE DETAILs REGARDING THE ENTIRE PROCEDURE THAT FOLLOWS THIS RESULT.. I MEAN THE RESULT OF THE WRITTEN PORTION!
Along with the COMPLEXITIES OF INTERVIEW I AM REALY ANXIOUS TO KNOW ABOUT THE NICETIES REGARDING PSYCHOLOGICAL TEST... MEDICAL Test etc! And theIR prep off course!
PLZ DO SHARE THE INFO I LL B HIGHLY OBLIGED!
Plus I LL B MORE THAN HAPPY IF I GET TO RECEIVE TIPS AND ADVICE FROM SENIORS REGARDING THIS !
(THERE WAS NOT A TINY WINY BIT OF SARCASM… (U KNOW WHOM THIS IS FOR!) AND SECODLY...WISH GRANTED! The “ASPIRANT” WILL only discuss “interview” and not u) fine?
:oo   :waiting

Interviews occur after the medical exams
There would be blood tests, eyesight query and a general physical examination and then a psychological test Which only has recommendation about the personality of a candidate
However it is only upon the interviewing panel discretion how much credit they want to give the psychologist report ( After all what does a psychologist know compared to old and grotesque bureaucrats and generals. A mere goof of behavioral sciences :roll :roll )
The interview panel has the power to weight the candidate in marks
After the interview ( 300 numbers ) The written and interviews marks are combined and the candidate suited by the members (There is a suitability clause again decided by the board member Though NGCR recommended personality assessment a must for csps)
The candidates who passed ISSB don’t fare Psychological and medical test
Now it is the 20 to 30 minutes of interview which makes all the difference

Main reason of my apprehension

Firstly i must congratulate you for qualifying written portion. As we all know that Interview will be a hard nut to crack this time. Everyone has to be fully accoutred to face the challenge. The interview / Psychological Assessment is not about to scrutinize your cognizance but it`s about your determination, confidence, attitude, guise, qualities, prudence, personality, communication, composure, leadership, intelligence and patriotism.

"First impression is the last impression".The first impression is produced by your guise. Decide what you want to wear and make sure that it is comfortable. Untidy out-fit and Unkempt appearance can be a weak point. Have a suitable hair-cut preferably short hairs and clean shave. In street words, you must look "Pappu". Think about your posture. Try and put your head up and shoulders back. Don`t bind your hands and shiver your legs. Try and relax. Deep breathing definitely helps! . Don`t divert your attention to anything else. Maintain eye contacts and smiles. Because it is a sign of awareness. Be enthusiastic and interesting.

The very first question usually asked is about your introduction. You must be prepared to answer it astutely. Let us know how keenly you can reply it (prepare and post it here). It is just beginning of dialogs. They will commence counter-questions so on. Your answers must satisfy them. Answer should be to the point. Avoid degressions (na zyada na kam). The way you answer ought to be rhetorically decent. Don`t use the ordinary language you exploit in the midst of your chums. Don`t alter your accent into native accent. Show what you know exactly. A pseudo image can trigger the catastrophe.

Don`t pretend to be over smart and charlatan. They can easily observe implausible cat and dog stories. Mostly candidates show perfectionism. Let`em know your weaknesses and your efforts in order to ameliorate them.

If you answer a question incorrectly, forget about it and move on to the next one. You will not be rejected on the basis of one poor answer. So bounce back and tackle the next question with renewed enthusiasm.

They may ask you about your favourite personalities. You must pick the personality consciously. Candidates often struck to the aggressive personalities of history such as Adolf hilter. Consequently, They can`t support them any longer.

You must have astonishing command in current affairs. Obviously reading newspaper helps alot in this regard. Moreover, you`ve to prepare your approach towards each and every conflict. They will trigger to current problems and be looking for your suggestions to overcome the situation. It is of little significance whether you favour or oppose any issue as long as your reasoning is convincing and your arguments are sound. What if they ask you about the situation of North Waziristan and Swat. you must not be orthodox. your answer should be logical rather than emotional. As you claim anything, you must have enough evidence to substantiate it. They will contend to ramble you from your claim. Don`t pull any brick from the structure.

I concur to Senior member`s opinion. You should go through all sticky interviews. No doubt, such questions will not be repeated. Anyhow, you will come to know the procedure of questions and their effective reply by conquerers.

especially go through the following pages:
http://www.cssforum.com.pk/css-interview-psychological-tests/interview/87-interview-questions-2002-2003-2004-a.html
http://www.cssforum.com.pk/css-interview-psychological-tests/interview/23-interview-asp-kamran-adil.html

Go for few trial interviews. You should visit to the people concerned with it. Just be engaged with CSP, your professors at university and any veteran person you know. According to an adage, "Practice makes men perfect". Thus, Practice as much as you can. Speak to yourself as well whether what people think about you. The only objective before you is to provide best of your knowledge.

In group discussion, don`t be dazzle if you fail to understand the topic. Just wait and watch the arguments of other candidates. Build your approach toward the topic and prepare healthy arguments. Don`t squander enough time in thinking. It reveals the touch of improviseness.
I must acknowledge that i myself have never experience the panel. Anyhow, These suggessions are amalgamation of fellow conquerer`s interview.

I forget to tell very very important thing which is to pray Allah Pak for your success. Get the best wishes of your parents, elders and friends. Pray for five times and remember Allah is there to support you.

To accomplish great things,
We must not only act,
But also dream,
Not only plan but also believe,
Best wishes for your interview.

May Allah Pak make your dreams true and accomplish your all wishes (Aameen)

Best of luck !!!
