MY INTERVIEW , 6th January Day 1 .
 

I entered the interview room about 2 to 3 minutes before 12 noon.
I greeted Salam to all 4 penalists individually .
Chairman : Have a seat Doctor .
Me : Thank u Sir .
Chairman : on your form pic you have a sort of cut beard style , and today you are clean shaven ?
Me : Yes Sir I like to change it around , I have also kept moustaches for a while .
Ch: So which style do u actually like ?
Me: I like clean shave sir .
Ch: So why it isn't so on the form pic .
Me: Sir , I feel that my clean shaven pics don't look cute ( Big smile from him ) .
Ch : you should have decided by now , so let me ask you what is your final decision ?
Me: Sir , final decision is clean shave as I have come here today .
Ch: I think that you have no interest in medical field , as you have no employment record ?
I tried to explain to him that it's only being 6 months since my Housejob ended and I had to appear in 14 attempt and interview prep , so I did some replacement jobs of friends but no regular employment .
Ch : so why you became doctor in the first place ?
Me: It's the preferred option for most FSC students , family wishes .
Ch: so what happened that you decided to shift career path?
Me: CSS was always an ambition and I couldn't adjust in the health care system so it became more of a choice .
Ch : So if everyone will lose interest and get frustrated , who will serve the patients then ?
Me: Sir , most doctors are serving patients with devotion , and those like me who couldn't adjust often leave the country , but I have decided to serve my society , and I do believe that shifting from medical may not be the best decision but it isn't the worst either and I am satisfied with my decision .
Ch: what are your other career options ?
Me : Fcps psychiatry sir .
Ch : your hobbies are movies , cricket and keeping birds ?
Then there was 2 minutes discussion on birds in which he asked what is your interest in birds ?
How many you have kept , what do u do with them ? Why a few , you should expand your passion ?
Me: Sir , time shortage , career building uncertainty keeps me from persuading my interests fully.
Ch : (in a satirical way ) When you will be a civil servant or a practicing Doctor , then you will have ample time ?
Me: Sir when One settles down in life , then it's easy to follow both your work and leisure .

What are the social issues of pakistan ?
What is the main issue of health sector ?
What is wrong with education ?
Budgetary allocations to both sectors ?
What is Balochistan issue ? 2 to 3 cross questions about it .

What was ARSLAN iftikhar case , , was it a public or a private issue ? are u satisfied with the investigations ? No I am not .

Me : smiling , sir it's just a shopping decision , it has no psychiatric basis ( he smiled too ) .

So what's the main criticism against Jared diamond and guns germs and steel ?
Me : he's been criticised for portraying a simplistic and neat view of history , and he has ignored the human part , religion and culture . And overemphasised on geography and impersonal factors .
Rana : have you heard about Samuel Huntington ?
Yes sir , he's a political scientist famous for his views of clash of civilisations .
Rana : A long statement of Huntington , crux was that a middle class army poses threat to democratic governments in developing countries. Do you think democracy has something to dread from army in pak?
Me : The chances of military take over can never be ruled out in pakistan Sir.
Rana : do you support military dictatorships ?
Me: Categorical no , I think that this debate of Comparing military rule with Democracy should be considered heresy , democracy is the only way forward sir .
Rana : so why democracy should be threatened then?
Me: common man is no Phd or Bureaucrat, people are already losing patience with this democratic gov and military take over cn never be ruled out .
Rana: so you have psychology , sociology , european history and Int law as your optionals ? Yes sir .
What is Hegel's dialectical materialism?

Is it relevant today ?
Me: it will be relevant untill there are ideas in the world .

Me: I am seeing another civil war Sir .

Me: Refugees , new wave of terror , pakistan wil have to take sides again in afghan politics .
Rana : You said you have some disappointments from iftikhar chaudhry but u still have high regards for him ?
Me: sir These shortcomings can be mentioned in bracket ( Media judiciary nexus , failure of structural reforms, ARSLAN iftikhar case etc) but they don't define mr iftikhar chaudhry , he will be remembered as the champion of judiciary , who reiterated the faith of common man in justice.

Thank u for wishes fellows , I walked out of the interview room thanking The ALMIGHTY .

But I would like to see Css a more standardised exam where everyone is tested on equal basis.All the candidates say so that some optionals are drilled and people with such good marks fail in essay and are deprived .

Nobody talks about interview , we were on the first day , didn't know about the panel for sure , blank as one can be . Hardly anytime to prepare current issues , revise optionals, about yourselves, performas, fluent ENGLISH .
We were the first on psychological with procedural changes , and we were the subjects of that experiment .
And then those groups which will get upto 2 and 3 months for the same tasks , with all the inputs of academies and people like me who have taken interview .
How one can think that these two cases will be examined on equal grounds?
Why not conduct interviews in 1 month of all candidates, so no one is able to make up one's appearances and views and be as candid as raw as those in group 1 or atleast almost .

In my interview with psychologists they asked me about youth loan scheme,name of CJ of lahore high court,retirement age of CJ of supreme court and high court and persian poet Rudki.I answered all these questions.

I replied "No"and gave refrence of a gallup survey 2013 which says that USA is a biggest threat to international peace.After my reply there was a big laugh in room and all members including chairman started to laugh and said yes this survey was published. I could not understand their this response.

I am the first to go in front of the panelist among my 7 group fellows
Chairman greeted and said have a seat miss after that he asked few questions such as
• As I am a lecturer, he asked me the no of students in my university.
• He asked the before having GSP plus status. Pak had to sign few treaties what are they?
• He asked me what is FORCED LABOUR?
• Another question regarding laws in British History, which I didn’t recall as I was hearing them first time (my optional related)
• That’s all from the Chairman side

Now the second panelist who asked me the questions was Mr Suhail Mansoor
• He first asked me to describe Media Policy?
• PEMRA?
• What changes it brought about in Pakistan? How differ from the previous policies?
• Describes PRESS LAWS in Pakistan, what are they??
• What is Print Line?

( as journalism was my optional)
Next, he asked me about literature related questions such as:
• Keats concept of Negative Capability?
• Why it is called Negative?
• He asked me to explain the quotation from Hamlet “TO BE OR NOT TO BE”
• What is the Tragic Flaw of Hamlet
( as I did my honors in Literature and Linguistics)


Next one was the Mam Batool
• As I am doing job in another city, so she asked me question on it that wont it is difficult to live away from home?
• Why you want to shift in your profession from teaching to civil service?
• Mukhataraa Maii Case…. Was what she did is right or wrong???, a lot discussion on this issue ( healthy and light discussion)
• Women Empowerment Bills Passed by PPP government? Name them
• She asked me are u changing the profession just to have power and authority??
( a good discussion on it and there are moments when all the panelists laughed, as discussion going on in lighter mood)

The last one is Mr Rana Wajid

• Explain the working of ICJ, how it is limited?
• What is the composition of ICJ in a sense any objection on it, and people don’t refer to it because they think it is biased??
• What are SECURITY COUNCIL REFORMS? And what is the stance of Pak on it?

• He asked me why military take part in the making of National security Policy, it is the domain of Parliament?
• Do you like Dictators? I said not really, counter questioning but the lighter and interesting one as at some points we all laughed  

The overall behavior of panelists was very warm, friendly and comforting, they won’t give tough time and in my interview we had occasions where we shared laughter in discussions.
