Medical Test in CSS Exam
 

Css exam which are held annually and the lucky contestants that pass this exam are liable for future testing such as the Medical Test, Physiological test and Viva Voca.

My main question is that if someone is infected with STDs such as HIV and any other types of sexually transmitted diseases, are they deemed to fail the medical test and therefore never be allowed a job? Please let me know. Thank You

If one is infected with any STD, I think they ask the person to get cured first. I think they give some time period and possibly defer allocation to the subsequent year.

About HIV, I think it results in disqualifcation... but that's what I'm presuming. I don't know of any hard and fast rules.

This point disqualifies the candidate. Candidate suffering from any transmissible disease will not be considered fit for the job.

I think communicable diseases is a very vague term still.It doesnt address the situation when someone has positive results with respect to presence of virus/bacteria but negative results in activation of disease.Many students have Hepatitis b but they are cleared if the disease is not active or there is no infection observed.I feel that there is no reason why an HIV positive cant get qualified in medical because HIV positive only indicates the presence of virus.One can have HIV all his life and lead a perfectly healthy,symptom free life ,and may die of a natural cause other than Aids.But if one has Aids,it means HIV is active then he may be disqualified.So anyone having any kind of communicable disease should not feel dishearted.He should show the courage to go for css as well as medical.If that disease is not active and he is healthy otherwise,he may be qualified.

Allergic Problem

If some has Allergic Problem ( Asthematic) dust allergy will he be out ?

i dont think being allergic to something disqualify u to be in service....the best option i think would be not to mention the diseases that u have.......let them find thats wat they r there for...nd the test they carry out wont tell about the allergies so chill

Asthma can be divided into three categories:mild,moderate and severe.If u have severe asthma,then it can be life threatening then there is no use of hiding it.its better to tell them honestly.Because health and ur precious life comes first.Asthma doesnt lead to disqualification.But if u have severe asthma,telling them can be helpful in ur future life,like place of posting can be associated with ur problem.By theway,u should opt for foreign service as ur first preference.That would be perfectly in line with ur health and suitable lifestyle.And change of places has proven to remove allergies in many cases.

I found this discussion very interesting specifically the responses of Vanity. Being a medic I know that the current advancement in medical sciences has provided us with a lot of flexibility and this offers us the edge over the conventional out look of the medical examination for CSS. To me if the board is disqualifying any candidate he can go ahead with appealing and expert opinion will definitely get him in one or the other group. In this case, the most important think is determination and faith in oneself rest every thing will go perfect. Once the FPSC is encouraging disabled candidates then why not some hard working fellow who is mentally perfect but have some problem that is not active. So be positive and go ahead....

they dont test you for HIV so they have no way of knowing if you are negative or positive.
blood tests are done for hepatitus and a couple other diseases. for the most part medical is a formality. especially this year it has been so easy.

What i believe is that the HIV and Astham ( discussed above) has no perticulat test in the Medical screening for FPSC, but the damage that these diseases have done to the body are easily noticeable, specially for the Doctors who are examining. Asthma, if developed and chronic produces changes in lungs, and HIV, either active or not active, it has Auto Immune defficiancy that makes one voulnerable to many infectious diseases needs an isolated enviorment for his/her own benefit.

I believe HIV +ve should not attempt this exam to avoid further frustration and medicall illness.
