Impish is on a distinguished road
Default I am Physically challenged, am I eligible ?

Salam everyone, hope all of you will be fine...

I know that in terms of age I am eligible for CSS exam as my D.O.B is March 18, 1986 but I end up with the question: Am I eligible in terms of my physical condition?
I am physically challenged such that my lower right and upper left limbs are affected with polio. I can walk and even run without any support or stick. So, am I eligible ?

Thanks to you.

Default Count your blessings

From the css rules and regulations page:

MEDICAL TEST

All candidates except disabled
must be in good mental and
bodily health and free from any
physical defect
Disabled candidates in the
categories of physically
impaired, hearing/speech impaired
(deaf & dumb) and visually
impaired (blind) are allowed to
compete for Competitive
Examination against four
Occupational Groups/ Services
viz:
Commerce & Trade Group
Pakistan Audit & Accounts
Service
Information Group
Postal Group.

So dear impish even if God forbid you are told that you can't compete on open merit, still you can toe the line and get into the above four goody good groups.
Disability is of two types of which FUNCTIONAL disability is the worst and I'm happy to know that that's not the case with you because you are quite functional and can carry yourself without external aid or assistance. But Impish! suppose you want to contest for PSP, then a doctor will evaluate your physical capacity through different physical tests to see whether you are able to undergo the physical training for the PSP and whether or not your slight impairment will subtract from your performance in the future while you are in the line of duty?
I will suggest you impish to opt for those groups only which are purely white collar jobs, where you won't have to bend over your back to carry out your duty. And whatever group you joined, you will have the chance to reach grade 22 and become a federal secretary. Currently one of the Fpsc members is from the postal group who had reached grade 22, retired as secretary and joined Fpsc.

Default And now the Age Issue...

Hello there,
Someone has told me that disabled persons have 2 year's age relaxation. Kindly verify this or suggest where can I get this verified. If it is true, then I can try three times till 2016 because I am touching 26 in the coming march (D.O.B = 18 march, 1986).

Regards.
