Why do they conduct psychological assessment?
Asalamoalaikum,
I went through a thread in this website where a senior discussed about marks distribution in interview phase of CSS Exam. My question is, if all 300 marks are in the hands of interview panel, then why do they conduct two days psychological test?
Thanks, |

No one answered. That's such a disappointing moment. Even such individuals who knows the answers ignore the queries.

Q: And, what is the criteria for passing the psychological test?
There are no criteria to pass the psychological test as there are no such criteria to fail the test either. Because they cannot make you fail in any way if you show your presence and do whatever you can during the process. It will not affect you in any way. The bitter truth is if you perform very well you will get zero marks, and if you perform worst you will get zero marks, which is the reason for placing no marks for the psychological test. The psychological test only gives a mere glimpse of your personality and it cannot judge your personality entirely. The psychologist will make a report by placing candidates in different categories. However, it will not affect the marking system which is solely based on the interview process. If you are an alcoholic, involved in gambling, or any other heinous act like running a brothel, human-smuggling, etc. and you mention it to the psychologists, there is a very slim chance of passing the interview phase. Even if you are involved in any such activity, just let them not know about it and everything will be ok. Q: Who decides whether you should proceed to the interview phase and why? if you have passed the exam and have cleared the cut-off list before the psychological test, it would be enough for you to go for the interview phase. Q: What if someone is unable to actively participate in psychological assessment, will he/she be eligible for the interview phase of the test? It is better to perform better in every stage. But, if you fail to perform better, it will not affect you much in the interview phase. During the psychological phase, if you write well by giving good arguments to different questions, it may help in creating a good impression for the interview process. But, it is advisable to present yourself in the simplest possible way. Do not try to create the impression of a superhuman being. Also, the panel will assess the psychological report and will read whatsoever you will write about yourself (and for example, current happenings like Afghan-scenario), it will help them in understanding your persinality and if you perform well, it might be helpful in someway which i really don't know. |
