friends, so far, i have found the following command tasks by searching different threads on the forum as well as by some friends. Those amongst you, who have ever taken psychological test and know about any other command task, please share in this thread and help us. Your contribution will always be remembered and acknowledged.

COMMAND TASKS:

1. You are designated as the DCO. The workers of a mill are on strike, demanding two months bonus, currently getting bonus for one month only. The mill administration dismissed two labour leaders. Strike is on the same day and on the same route on which a religious procession was scheduled. You have insufficient security forces. As a DCO, how would you tackle this problem?

2. You are made the Chief Secretary of FATA region. The task for you is to make a plan on how to control drug trafficking.

3. You are made DCO. In your district a industry was to be established. Now locally people were not skilled labors, so labor force was to be hired from other provinces. This resented the local masses. What would u do in such condition?

4. You are made the Foreign Minister. The task is that some terrorists in Afghanistan have made some Pakistanis hostage. The terrorists demand change in our policy regarding Pakistan’s role in war in terror. Government has been negotiating with them for a long time but has failed to secure the release of the hostages. Now how to secure their release?

5. You are given designation of Director General of Export Promotion Bureau. EPB is to hold a single-country exhibition in Japan within two weeks. Now Japan’s custom officials are demanding custom duties in advance (full payment) while Pakistan insists on paying the custom duties according to the value of goods sold at the exhibition. While the negotiations were yet going on, those consignments of goods are landed in Japan, but Japan is still demanding the full payment of custom duties in advance. Given the situation, what immediate solution is to be found out?

6. You are made Secretary Education. Your task is to find out the solution of problems in education sector like political interference in teacher transfer etc.

7. You are designated as the DCO. The problem is that a big feudal lord of your district dies leaving behind a very young son. The uncle of the child wants to kill him. You have to come up with a solution in which both parties are to be kept satisfied.

8. You are designated as the Secretary Health. The problem is of emission of industrial Sulphur gas in the open and it is causing a chaos and adding in environmental degradation. You have to give solution to this problem.

9. You are designated as DDO Revenue. You have to solve the problem of Tax Evasion.

10. You are designated as Secretary Health. There is a problem of Industrial waste near the town, which is spreading diseases in public. How to solve this matter?

11. Designation: DPO Task: curb rising sectarianism in the district.

12. Designation : Secretary Information Task: A newspaper is printing some stuff that is against the security of the state. How to handle this situation.

1. Cyclone has hit Karachi and displaced the fishermen.Find out the strategy to deal with the disaster and manage the rescue and rehabilitation.

2. Land revenue and few people are evading taxes plus the real ownership of the cultivated land is different from original.Now how to deal with the situation.

3. Cases of abduction of girls were reported in posh area of Karachi.Interior ministry has to take action.So what measures may be taken to deal with the abduction and rehabilitation of the girls after recovery.

On FPSC's site it is mentioned that it is not necessary to assign roles. see

3. In second session you will participate in committee like activities which usually address various problems encountered in every day working in administrative, educational or social set ups. You will each get a separate problem, and will be given 15 minutes to study, analyze and define the basic issues involved in the problem on your own and plan a strategy for solution. It is important that you remain focused on the issue at hand and avoid far fetched assumptions. It is not essential to assign designations to the members and an open discussion on the issue should be encouraged.

Either way, please continue with the topic and lets not drag this 'assigning roles' argument any further.

i am dragging it the last time, hence i feel it necessary to clear this point as per my knowledge.

The person who is on the command seat, the one chairing the meeting, is always given a designation, like, DCO, Foreign Secretary, Information minister etc.

But it is not necessary to assign further designations to your other team members who are acting as your sub-ordinates.

for example, if i am acting as a foreign minister, its not necessary for me to tell any member that "as a foreign secretary, you have to report me after 24 hours..." it should be general, without assigning roles to anyone, we can discuss things generally. Like we will be given numbers, so we can say Mr 1, you have to handle media, etc..
this is what i have understood so far.
but i would like any senior member who has experienced command task to comment on this point.

My command task as today . It was somewhere on the b/m lines

I was supposed to be a senior official of the Foreign Office and had to devise a strategy to ensure Pak's strategic interest are safeguarded in the wake of India China's growing trade and military cooperation.

thanks a lot scorpion for sharing your command task. plz share with us your plan, how did you propose to solve the task? what suggestions did you give?

Suggestions were to apprise China of Pak's concerns since China is a friendly country. To initiate joint projects between China,India and Pakistan so that Pakistan can avoid isolation in the territory. Pragmatic approach like that of India be adopted where it is using trade to forge good relations with China despite their previously frosty relations and border issues. Improvement in Pak-India ties.

Anyone plz come up with the possible solutions that can be given as suggestions being a DCO?
