There was a time when I used to cry endlessly in such fits of depression and melancholy; but time has changed me big time. Best way to deal with depression is talking with Allah; whether you do it in Namaz or just sit in your room alone and begin talking to Him. Believe me, it is THE solution. In the end, you will be immensely contented and satisfied. Because He LISTENS!!

Just cogitate over what should I do, smoke normally not extra. But the solution by Seemab is right I am sure along with Darood Shareef.

It depends upon intensity of depression.

Usually I sit alone silently,contemplate over each and everything that has happened to me;causes,reasons,effects & remedies !

I listen ghazals and sufiyana kalaam that soothe my heart.

In severe depression,I take paper & pen and start writing.It comes out, whether in form of poetry or in prose.

In my case I will reply Honestly that When I get depress I go out to have Ice cream and then all better :p

If you are really depressed then follow what miss Seemab has suggested. It really works, trust me.

For exam point of view: You can say following points.

1. I start walking/jogging.

2.I Offer Prayer.

3.Hanging out with best friends

4. Yoga.
