@hammad
u can go for physics it is a nice subject....also marks giving
but it also demands time...i think u have enough time as ur session is going to be ended in june-july so u have a 7-8 months for preparation,u can handle physics easily...and as for as applied math is concerned it is a BLESSING for u man as i know what is being taught to mech engrs in uet
applied maths contains statics,dynamics,vectors and tensors,numerical analysis etc
i think during ur engg u have gone through these subjects except tensors....so u can contct any electrical engg student for help as they go through this sub in their first or sec term

GURMANI SB. i think they must not go for maths..... when i was about to graduate from uet ,i was also interested in maths but seniors advised me not to opt it and i think they were quite right.
I have seen maximum number of failures in maths and it takes lots of time to prepare it. But the decision is to the person going to appear in the exam.

@amjad hafeez
Mr. Hafeez i suggested hammad that he should go for applied math not basic maths
i am not suggesting everybody here to opt for maths.....here is a particular case as hammad is student of mech engg so i thought he can do good
as i have seen the marks given in dynamics,statics,vecotrs,tensors,N.A........and dear u will be thinking y i am not going for math myself...the reason being is that i havent done mech engg
i thought it good for mech engineers only.....beacause in engg the subjects we study are hardly included in css (only a small portion) and when we (engineers) choose un familiar subjects,it causes trouble for us...as a student of science in whole career we can not go for literature as well...thats the reason gentle man

One must make utmost try to avoid science subjects.

I am a science student and considering my previous education i opted for Botany. My marks for Botany remained 114 (2002); 150 (2005) and 105 (2006).

The marks in science subjects remain uncertain.

A friend of mine is gold medalist in MSc Chemistry and he was able to secure merely 90 marks in Chemistry paper of CSS 2005.

Therefore, if someone is having option to opt out other optionals then one must try to avoid science subjects. Otherwise one can go for science subjects.
