Default My Psychological Test (Lahore Phase 2) Day-2 22/Apr/2013

Interview

First psychologist/Madam
Introduce yourself?
Father’s Profession
Family Details
Degree, university experience
Employment record
Why do you want to work in government?
(She was satisfied with the answers which were descriptive and straight forward)

Second
What did you learn in university studying abroad? (This time my answer was comprehensive)
You have a degree in business…what is opportunity cost (Opportunity cost is an economics question but I explained it nonetheless)
You have stats as your optional, What is mode? (easy)
What is T-test (explained hypothesis testing and said T-test is one of the types)
You have geography and DMG as your choice, What is the largest District? (I apologized, didn’t know)
How many districts are in total? (Again apologized I told him I did not know) He said you are going in DMG…and I nodded and said yes but I don’t know how many districts are there in Pakistan.
Do know about Gwadar port? (Yes, explained.) Is it operational? (No but hopefully it will be soon now that China is taking over operations. )
How many Rivers are there in Pakistan? (I started Major rivers in…he cut me to say total rivers not just major…so I said I’m sorry I don’t know)
What is the length of Durand Line? (I told him I can only guess if he wants me to but I have not researched on this so I do not know)

Third
If you were to find out tomorrow is the last day you will live what are the three biggest regrets you will have? ( I told him all three, all of them about academic opportunities I could have availed while in college)…

And that was the end of it...nothing from first day, no books, no personalities; questions were very simple and uninteresting. Questions about geography were basically facts, some of which I could have known others a bit too much...I think the psychological panel itself has little knowledge of the optionals e.g. geography is not merely about number of rivers or length of borders there are plenty of concepts there, so don't expect a conceptual question, just simple definitions and facts. Nonetheless overall the interview was good on my part so I have little to complain.

Urdu: “ghairmulki mudakhlat Pakistan mein aman ke rastay mein bari rukawat hai”

English: “Having high hopes from upcoming elections is unrealistic”

Command Task

Municipal corporation built a shopping mall which was very successful. Now they want to extend it and build another section. However, existing owners feel their shops will be devalued and lose prime position if new shops are built so they want to shelve the project. Municipal corporation has already invested a lot in the project and claim the revenues will be used for public service so the project should go through . As DCO you have called a meeting of officials of Municipal Corporation and members of Aggrieved Shopkeepers Association to reach an amicable solution to the problem.

(I could have divided the committee into the two concerned parties, however I decided against that since it would be hard to reach an amicable solution in 8 minutes that way…so I just explained the problems and said that members of both parties are present here and should come up with mutually acceptable solutions…I think I finished a few seconds before the time)

Good Luck!

Haha ... The second psychologist asked me similar questions:
- What do you know about Ghazi brotha Canal (I knew about the Ghazi Brotha Dam, but not about the Canal)
- In which month Gyari Sector incident took place? How many soldiers died? How many bodies are recovered till date? Where is Gyari Sector located?
- How many districts in Punjab? How many in Pakistan? Which one is the largest one?
- How many languages are spoken in Pakistan?

My answer to most of these were of a straight forward 'Sorry'. I don't know how these questions are going to reflect anything about candidate's psychology.

I was also given the same command task, it was a bit toughy because it was rather long comprising of one full page, suggestions were very few and I thought I did well to drag it to 8 minutes.
