Mr. Mufakhar Adeel (2nd position CSS-2006) has opted for Journalism and Sociology.
Regarding your second question, I do not know about sociology as it is not one of my optionals, but journalism takes at most 10-15 days to completely cover everything regarding this subject. I have enumerated all the topics to be covered in one of my posts in this very thread.

I have both of them and I will stick with both of them.

Personally I think they are interesting subjects and somehow complement each other. I guess, It wouldn't be right, if I judge the ease for myself in some course based on others circumstances with it.

If I like it, I would definitely work hard for it and score good in it.

P.S. I judged these courses by looking at past papers.

P.S.S. I also have Mercantile Law and I have seen people ripping that subject off as being party-pooper for CSS applicant in terms of strict marking.
