Preparaing Zoology is like any other subject ,you need to give it proper time and well executed strategy.
First thing you must do is go through the

syllabus
and
past papers.

This activity will not only help you clear concepts regarding Zoology but you will also grasp paper pattern and important question.
If you go through the past papers you will get the idea about the question that are repeated in one way or the other.
Note down all the question and start searching for the material...for that i have mentioned some books that will be helpful,i have have also listed the books recommended by the commission ...some like Gyton,De Rbbertis and Odum are really good....but they are lengthy ones and most of the times candidtes find it onerous job to go through them...
but you can make your own notes from them...
I did mention using Fsc books in my previous posts regarding Zoology....let me clear what i meant...
Fsc books are good for a starter ..they clear concepts ,help you with the objective portion but you must not rely on them wholly for the subjective part....for that i would recommend you to go through Bsc and Msc level books.
Bsc books by Ilmi are good ,i have mentioned few in this post.
University notes of Msc will work fine...if you can get them from a university near you....

I have also posted some notes you can check them as reference ...i have added some diagrams as well so as to make things more
lucid and explicit. But you must follow the books as they are the most authentic source .I have tried my best but there can be mistakes.

To get good marks you must have full command on mcqs ...20 marks can make a huge shift ,say if you manage to get above 15
you will see the impact on your total....easily getting 130+...
and for subjective part write what is asked ,be very accurate and draw diagrams where needed and label them ...

Books

Priciples of Invertebrate zoology By Caravan (Khan Rafique & Anees Ghauri)

Principle of Chordate Zoology By Caravan (Khan Rafique & Anees Ghauri)

Chordates and Invertebrates By Verma

Genetics by Verma

Ecology by Odum

Cell Biology by De-Robbertis.

Priciples of Modren Biology (Cell biology,Genetics,Ecology)By Ilmi (Abdul Qayyum &Ashraf Mirza)

Sabir Ali's Evolution

Sabir Ali 's Ecology

Gyton's Physiology or any medical book for physiology will work.

Books recommended by FPSC are.

1
A Text Book of Zoology (Invertibrate) Parker and Haswell
2
Comprative Anatomy of the vertebates George C.kent
3
Invertebrate Zoology Hegner and Engemann
4

10
Text Book of Medical Physiology Guyot.W.B
11
Moleculr Biology of Gene Watson.J.D.

Miller and Herlay Book Download.

This book is easy and comprehensive ,do go through it once ,you will clear your concepts about topics.

Prepare zoology along with other subjects it has to be done regularly to avoid burden in the end.....
Cover general questions from invertebrate and chordates.....really important.
Hope this helps...if something is missing do ask.
Regards.

We shall work togather on the two papers one by one and prepare notes. Here is the syllabus for zoology:
ZOOLOGY
Total Marks—200

(Marks—100)
INVERTEBRATE AND CHORDATE ZOOLOGY
The candidates will be required to attempt five questions—three from
Part—A and two from Part—B.
PART—A
Invertebrate
General organization (general morphology, mode of life, adaptations, life cycles and economic importance) of the following groups with special reference to the topics mentioned in each group:—
Protozoa: Parasitism, conjugation and autogamy, medical importance.
Porifera: Canal system, skeletal structures and their taxonomic value, position of porifera in the Animal Kingdom.
Coelenterata: Polymorphism ; measenteries ; corals and coral reefs.
Platyhelminthes: Parastic adaptations, medical importance.
Nematoda: Medical importance.
Annelida: Coelom, metamerism.
Mollusca: Shell, modifications of foot, feeding, respiration, shell fishery.
Arthropoda: Appendages, feeding; respiration, larvae.
Echinodermata: Skeleton, water vascular system, larvae.

PART—B
Chordata
Origin; comparative account of skeleton, circulatory, excretory and nervous systems, development (egg types, cleavage, blastula and gastrula, germ layer/formation, embryonic membranes and placentation) natural history (mode of life, migration, adaptations, biting mechanism of snakes).

ZOOLOGY
PAPER—II (Marks—100)
GENERAL ZOOLOGY
The candidates will be required to attempt at least one question from each part.
Part—A
Cell Biology: Morphology, Chemical composition and functions of nucleus, nuclear inclusions and cytoplasmic organelles, protein synthesis and molecular genetics, mechanism of mitosis and meiosis.
Part—B
General Physiology: Respiration, respiratory mechanism, respiratory pigments, transport of oxygen and carbon dioxide, circulation: haemodynamics, control of cardio vascular system, nutrition: modes of nutrition, digestion and assimilation of food stuff, Excretion: nature and sources of substances excreted, modes of excretions, Nervous system, nerve impulses, Hormones and their biological action.
Part—C
Genetics: Mendelian principles, multiple alleles, interaction of genes; linkage and crossing over, mapping of genes, sex determination and sex linkage, mutations, chromosomal aberrations, gene concept.
Part—D
Evolution: Origin of life, organic diversity, theories to account for organic diversity, Phylogeny and ontogeny, species concept, mechanism of evolution, modern concept of natural selection, evolutionary trends.
Part—E
Ecology : Concept of ecosystem, biogeochemical cycles, animal adaptations to major habitats, environmental pollution and its effect on life.

Lets strat from Part A of second paper i.e. Cell Biology. I shall prepare its notes and we will discuss it here!

Salam

Well Aayeshaa it depends on your speed and ability to comprehend the subject...obviously while preparing for CSS no subject is prepared in isolation...you have to cover it with other subjects....but if you ask how much time 1 1/2 to 2 month would do for you.
Saath Saath karain gi tu koi problem nahein hoga.

@Amazing

Yes the books are easily available espacially by Pakistani publishers like Ilmi and Caravan. You can find them pretty much in all the books stores around Pakistan.
The books like de robertise and odum are also available but i would suggest you to find someone who has done Masters in zoology some friend and borrow the books. You can make the notes or a pointer or get some material photo copied.
The Indian author books are also easily available.

Regards.

Default @Ayesha

For the preparation of the Zoology subject first of all you have to clear the main theme, for example you have started the phylum protozoa preparation so you have to prepare it's general characters, types of reproduction,. mode of reproduction. locomotion etc, after preparing this then you should go to one of it's type (ex. paramecium) in detail.when you will have detailed study of one specie then the rest of the species will need only reading just a single time as the species of one similar phylum have same characteristics.
