These books are not at all conducive for the preparation of css as far as syllabus and pattern is concerned. Neither these are easily available in market nor they assist the students of css in proper way.
Those books should be suggested to the candidates which not only are easily available but also are conducive for CSS syllabus and pattern .

These are those books which css aspirants ought to follow.
these are not only available with local market, but also are short , precise and upto the needs of css aspirants.
P.C Thoms' book is superb for paper I , while if it is coupled with Norman Lowe's book the paper II can be prepared very nice.
Sheikh Muhammad Qayyum 's book should also be consulted.
All I am suggesting is based on m,y personal experience and guidance of successful seniors.

First of all have a casual reading of the books to have an idea. After that start it preparing topic by topic. Do not do selected study as all the questions and topics are important specially in Paper I. There is no scientific strategy for the preparing of this subject. This is how I went behind this subject.
Do one thing necessarily.
Whenever you finish one topic , write your own analysis of that particular happening un your own words. This would build your critical and analytical approach as well as the topic would get self tested. In paper mostly critical analysis is needed and it creates the difference in marks. when once both papers are prepared , turn towards objective portion and at least solve Past twelve years MCQs. Here I have solved those on forum , you can have those from here.
www.cssforum.com.pk/css-optional-subjects/group-e-history-subjects/british-history/55679-solved-mcqs-british-history-past-papers-since-2000-a.html
After that when you again revise this subject , you would have idea what sort of mcqs come in paper. So while reading and revising you can underline such things which would likely be asked in mcqs or you can write those on separate paper for your convenience.
This is how I went for B. H.
Regards.
