Guys skimming through the past papers I realized that there is a high probability of a question regarding Muhammad bin Qasim coming in 2010 exam.So how would you answer a question like

Q. How would you justify the statement that "Sindh is Babul-Islam" with reference to the Arab conquest of Sindh?

Sind- Bab-ul-Islam

You can start the answer by elucidating the situation of Islam in the world before the invasion of Sindh, you may start as:

By the start of 8th century, Islam had been spread far beyond the Arabian Peninsula. Muslims had conquered Persia, Syria, Spain, North Africa, Iraq and Palestine and these areas were annexed to the Muslim Empire. Ummayad Dynasty was the ruling Dynasty.

Next, state the causes of Muslim Invasion in Sindh by narrating the atrocity of Dahir and Dahir-Hajjaj clash.

In next passage, state the detailed narration of Qasim's invasion in Sind and stories of his conquests from Daibul toNairun to Sisam and sehwan and from rawar to brahamanabad and multan.

In the end conclude that Sind was Bab-ul-Islam because it opened the gate for Muslim rule in Hindustan. If M. Qasim had not invaded Sind, the centuries long Muslim rule couldn't be established in Indo-Pak. M. Qasim paved teh way for further invasions in Indo-Pakistan.

I think we need to assess the effects of Islam on Sub continent after M qasim's invasion rather than giving an account for the reasons of his invasion and the series of events describing his successes.I agree with the first part of your answer regarding the description of pre Islamic scenario of Sind and adjoining areas.Could someone care to elaborate further on this question??

@Sehar

your approach is a conventional one. Many aspirants would follow the same and end up scoring not good. Reason being, you are not asked about Dahir's attrocities. You are not even asked about the events or the causes of the invasions.

You are only asked whether you can justify it as Bab-ul-Islam or not? therefore if you agree or disagree you need to present points in form of its effects on the land and people.

The way you have given the answer. out of let's say 10 pages only two pages are dedicated where you give a verdict and support your ideas. As far as i am concerned the portion of reasons, events and other related information is not necessary at all.
