Default Indo-Pak as an optional for 2015
Dear Seniors,
Please comment whether it is safe to take Indo-Pak history as an optional for 2015.The score of 2013 was a little disappointing.If it is fine as an optional,what books should be followed for preparation of this subject and what strategy should be adopted do score good marks in indo pak?

Indo.pak history has seen many ups and downs in last 4 years.Since 2010 it has shown a clear decline in scoring trend. But after the style of 2014 paper , we can guess now it is turning towards pre-2009 trend. One very clear aspect of the optionals in css is that it always hard to perdict the future and scoring trend of a subject. I am personally of the view that a subject in which you have interest and aptitude always reward you hight.

As far as books are concerned k.ali is the best to grip on the events of history along with analytical views.
I.H Qureshi has also written well on dehli sultanate and mughal era.

Sohail bhatti's book is also widely recomended.

in CSS 2009 : i got 118
in CSS 2012 : i got 129
Now, i am waiting for result of 2014....

but yet i say A BIG NO for opting it. its maximum scoring is 135 but now the Competition is growing so opt PHILOSOPHY, PSYCHOLOGY etc

i scored 98 in 2010 and 137 in 2012.

Thanks all for replying.My optionals are as follow
geography
Psychology
Third one is still unknown to me

I just wanted to say that I have got good memorization power and history is my all time favourite.But I am scared to opt it due to its low scoring trend.One of the seniors guided me to take U.S.A history,I loved it as well but then again I am left with 100 marks and I really hate sociology,journalism etc because I can't generate my own point of view so clearly.
