Default Study techniques

Hey guys..
I need some help in tackling International law coz i really don't know how to tackle this subject properly...I am following 2 books by starke and shaw..but the text in the books is so boring that it takes a real effort on my part to keep myself awake...also i don't know if i shud study this subject topic wise or just read the book from start to finish...as i don't know how much of the topics should i cover like for example the topic of high seas involve a lot of aspects so should i make notes on all of them or only focus on a number of issues..

any guidance or help in this subject would be highly appreciated coz i really can't seem to find much help in this subject...also plz do share some tips to score high...

The books by Starke, Brownlie or Agarwal and Tandon are good enough and most recommended so you don't need to go through Malcolm Shaw. Just stick with one of the former authors preferably Starke.

As far as thorough study is concerned, it's always good and I'll suggest you to do it however there definitely are some topics that you cannot afford to miss. A list of such topics is available at this link so make sure you prepare them well.

You feel like sleeping while studying International Law!? Goodness!

All the best.

Thanks for replying and for ur help..but i am really not kidding..i don't know what but there is something abt int law that lulls me to sleep..anyways i personally prefer shaw over starke coz i like his writing style... its more engaging but the bulky volume scares me a bit too...anyways do u think one can get away with some selective study in this subject??

The trends as you know are changing so I won't take the risk of suggesting you to study selectively. However, the topics that I have linked to in my previous post are selective enough, they are the ones that have appeared in the past ten years papers so I think they should give you a good idea.

Now, how can I help you with the sleeping issue? Maybe it's the Malcolm Shaw book, more engaging.

Retaline May cause serious dependence.s Hence it must be used with caution esp. not to be used by those who are in a habit of getting drug dependent.
