Exclamation IR Book

Dear Ridacute, salaams and dua,

A suggestion for you, plz do not opt IR if u dont have background in its study cos its tougher and less scoring.. u have to study alot and score less.. but it has got an advantage, u'll be prepared for current affairs if u study ir.. so take the decision carefully.. i'm sure u can score 60 if prepare well..

For IR there are lots of books in the market which are subject specific. what i did to my study was that i got only one book of Dr Sultan Khan, 'International Relations which sufficed. As a matter of fact, IR is a complet discipline and not a single subject, therefore we cant say that only one book will give u all the details of the field. There are separate books on IR concepts such as Diplomacy, entente, detente, Balance of Power etc. What yu have to do now for CSS is that u need to be well aware of the basic concepts of the discipline and the starting point is The Westphelian Treaty after which the world orders have taken one shape or the other... Try to grasp the subject from its beginning and make yr concept clear about the Cold war, the world wars, international and national treaties etc by studying this book..

For MCQs, u dont have any specific book because we never know which mcq comes from which source. its bcos IR is so huge in scope.. What i did for mcqs is that i studied almost everything in the English Dailies. u know INDIA US defense agreement took place yesterday, u wont find it in any book being published these days, but rather it'l appear in a book somwhere in Sep or Oct. So, dont search for mcqs books.

The most convenient way is to study newspaper for mcqs and write them in some copy 4future use just 4exam day... Do not ignore any single international event, meeting of delegates, economic forums, games on international level, personalities on international level and read the monthly journal of current affairs by Dogger sons which is available in every book shop at peshawar... The Heral and The Economist can help u a great deal.. hope u got the reply to yr satisfaction..

Further queris r welcome from any aspirant of the forum...

Regards,

Cosmic libertine
