i am quite confused about this topic.i am considering mr parakash chander and one more book of int relations written by mr nasarullah khan.i didnot find matter about my required topic in parakash chander book.i am considering another book.my concept abt theories of economic imperialism is not clear.is there any one who is done with this topic or if there is any link available from where i can get more info abt this topic?

Define Economic Imperialism. How far it is correct to say that the G-7 countries have embarked upon Economic Imperialism in the Third World through WTO and Multi-National Corporations?

I think answer of the questions, like you mentioned one, can not be found in a single book, only clues on certain perspectives can be found. such questions are deliberately given in papars to test the wide study of the participant, and his observance of the contemporay world order. Print media can be a good source for such topics which are more or less the topics of Current affairs...........remember this is my personal judgement.

Heres the shortest ans i can giv u .... Hope u know the definition of Economic Imperialism which is same as neocolonialism, in which nation-states do not physically occupy a territory, rather they provide economic and technical assistance to these terrirtories under their own terms. This negates the very basis of nation state ie Sovereignty

Now, MNCs are corporations having their offices in several countries. In third world countries, they open their offices and try to compete with the local market, thus demolishing the local industry. On the other hand it has a benefit of Direct Foreign Investment.

With WTO or GATT, these SUper Powers, impose strict trade rules which are not beneficial for the 3rd world countries. Under their trade agreements, they make the imports expensive and exports cheaper thus creating huge balance of payment deficit for the thrid world coutry.
