Brother ! No doubt Punjabi largely remains a high scoring subject. However , I don't reckon a person having no know how of punjabi should go for it. I myself had punjabi as one of my optionals. Punjabi being my mother tongue proved to be instrumental for me in preparation of the subject. There is a slight difference in the mode of Urdu and punjabi language though on the surface they seem having much similarity. In view of this I would suggest you not to go for punjabi.
