Computer science has a very detailed and lenghthy syllabus. I recommend you to go through the past papers and syllabus contents and if you think that you have good command on 7 to 8 aread of the syllabus then you should go for it. I opted computer science in 2019 and have cleared the written exam. I was asked by people to choose from IR and pol science instead. But considering my four years background in computer engineering I opted for it and made it through.
If you are confident in at least half of the following areas:
your programming skills in C++, data structures, databases, oop, software engineering, web technologies, computer architecture, os and networking.
With a bit of dedication just follow the topics in mentioned in the course outline you will be able to make it through. Subjects like IR and pol science are being targeted as most students opt for these subjects. Since the time is short I think you should opt those subjects about which you have at least basic knowledge or those which appeal your interest. Don't let others make you decide your optionals. It worked in my case as I selected all my optionals according to my forte. It is better than sticking with a subject that you are not interested in or have no background knowledge of.

I studied each topic from computer science by hsm punlishers to get the idea of the topic (it is not a comprehensive book so you cant rely on it completely). Then i searched it on the internet from sites like w3 schools, youtube to understand. If you have slides for os, computer architecture etc from the curriculum books of your degree you can consult them as well.

What were your other optionals and on which basis u choose them and secondly should i go for academy for consultation? Because smart study is important and academies can give you right direction. Whats ur thoughts on this?

My optionals were
Computer Science
Anthropology
Criminology
Gender Studies
Indo pak history

I chose my optionals primarily based on my interests (anthropology), educational background (Computer science), previous knowledge (Indo pak history), short syllabus and overlaping contents ( gender studies and criminology).

I went to an academy for two months to get an overview of the compulsory subjects and i did not continued it with my optionals because they wanted me to take subjects that were a bit main stream and not my forte.

According to my experience, academies do help to a certain extent but at the end of the day it is you who should decide for yourself. Be your own judge, think about how much assistance you need, find your strengths and then stick to your decision whatever the outcome may be.
