Accounting & Auditing and Business Administration as optional Subjects

Hi everyone. I hold a bachelor degree in Commerce & I'm gearing up for my last attempt next year, Insha Allah. Previously I've had the following score in optional subjects and '14 (Not Allocated) attempts. [I failed in Essay & Composition in CE '13].

Arabic 142
Geography 138
International Law 56
Punjabi 48

I've dropped Punjabi for I couldn't cram poetic verses despite my being a Punjabi. Arabic is not an option anymore. Since there's a new syllabus is in place, I've decided to opt the following optional combination considering my academic background.

11: Accounting & Auditing 200
22: Business Administration 100
30: US History 100
40: International Law 100
47: Geography 100

It's my humble request to all Seniors/Juniors/Aspirants, etc to shed some light on subject selection and guide in this regard. Should i keep both Accounting & Auditing and Business Administration because I haven't been in touch with commerce subjects for five years now. Will Accounting & B. Administration have any effect on overall outlook of the combination? Has anyone in the past opted these two together? Thank you

Not a bad combination at all. In fact, its a unique one. Make sure you prepare well for these two subjects specially. US History is helpful in Current Affairs, International Law and Geography. So all these subjects compliment each other. Do consult a specialist for this selection.

Good to know that you have decided to go for 300 marks for Commerce. The rest of the combination is also technical. I'm afraid I won't be able to provide you with any insight on these subject since I've never wished to look at them, let alone attempting or having any idea whatsoever. Please consult seniors in other threads. They'll surely guide you about Criminology, Gender studies & Anthropology. Do you intend to attempt next year?

Yeah bro , I have only 2 attempts left because of the age factor. I wanna give it a 100% in 1st attempt. If you would like we can create a Facebook group for discussion on commerce subjects , maybe with time more can join, my name Arfeen Sultan, number there , 004740143577 or 004746249151
Sometimes in Accounting a little help saves you days of brainstorming on a single problem , specially in group consolidations :D

First attempt is always energetic. Give your 110%. I've consumed two chances. Will take last one in either '18 or '19. I've almost finalized my combination. However, I need more time on Business Administration to consider. I may drop it for Public Ad since I've already attempted in PMS last year with an average s core of 60, so thinking of going with P.A than B.A. Good intentions helping others yet on this forum, conditioned to permission by the administrators, a separate thread for Accounting and Auditing will do more good than on any other platform.

I'm more than willing just let me know when you feel like starting with it.
I will start Accounting & Auditing seriously from July.
Right now I'm focusing on repairing and improving my English skills because due to use of Norwegian for continuous 5-6 years now my English skills are deteriorated, specially the spellings and sentence structuring. I will use May and June solely on English along with current affairs and a bit of Islamic studies.

Perfect bro. We can make a plan for Accounting & Auditing. I'm totally blank in the subject despite the fact that I'd 70+ in these subjects in graduation. I need to start from the beginning and would need 2 months to cover at least. Though I have already attempted Geography, International Law, Public Administration previously. Proper time allocation to EDS& General Ability, A& A and US History will be my focus till December, Insha Allah. Could you please share your email address for further personal correspondence?

Regards,

I can't post link or email since Im a new member. I will try to add it in my profile. What is yours ?

You are gonna need to build it up on solid basic concepts. Good foundation is the key difference between common commerce graduates and ACCAs or CAs. In semester system almost 90% of students oversee the importance of basic bookkeeping or Accounting 1 and it becomes a nightmare at advanced levels.

Yes basic concepts is a key to scoring high marks in written part. Since it is divided between Financial, Cost & Managerial Accounting, Auditing, Business Taxation and Laws etc, it's going to be lengthy, hectic and a little boring to some extent but preparing with dedication and determination will be important. Previously I've had nothing to do apart form studying 24/7 and that made my base strong in compulsory subjects specially. Now that I've 9-5 Job, couple of other important commitments which I'll have to keep in mind while preparing. Proper time allocation is going to be a major concern form me. My contact details are available on my profile.
