how long would it take to prepare accounting for 150+ marks?

I am a simple graduate with a little knowledge of accounting. it is said that this one is quite a scoring subject and i want to opt this for CE-2013. those comrades who have appeared in the css exam with accounting are requested to tell me please that how much time is enough for its preparation, considering my background. please reply soon!!!
regards.

I will advise you not to opt it unless you are pro at this subject.

It depends on level of your knowledge in this particular subject, for instance if you think you are good then at least a month. However, do not confuse yourself into scoring and non scoring trend, opt it if you have knowledge and for finding that go through the syllabus of particular subject and later choose it.

Having Done MBA and Being a Finance Student, I would not suggest you to opt auditing and accounting. however, if you have a firm background then you must go through past paper before making your mind. this subject, as many others, needs group study so as to prepared well. i had pondered over this subject in CE 2012, but ultimately turned down the idea to opt this lengthy subject. Finally, i opted Mercantile and Business Administration( replaced this as well though) last year. Regards.

I am also planning to opt accounting and auditing for 2013. After studying the past papers, it seems that accounting won't be a problem as i covered the entire course in mba. What i thing anyone going for this subject should concentrate on auditing and specially income tax act because one have to memorize it. Apart from that i will really appreciate seniors for recommending proper reading for auditing and income tax.

I have done MBA myself and it is one the easiest and highest scoring 200 marks subject. Just make sure your concepts are clear. No more than 1-2 weeks prep is needed if you have studied accounting (in MBA or BBA) before
