Actual factory overhead .................................................. ..............Rs:63,100/-
Budgeted allowance based on actual hours worked:
Fixed expenses budgeted (w1).............................Rs: 40000/-
Variable expenses (W2)........................................Rs: 21000/-.............Rs: 61,000/-
.................................................. ........................__________..........______ ____
Spending variance.......................................... ...................................Rs: 2100/- unfav

Working 1
variable factory overhead
3 per hour* 1/3 = Rs: 1

So the fixed portion is 3-1=2
fixed expense budgeted is estimated hrs*rate or 20000 hrs * 2 = 40000

working 2
variable expenses
actual hours * rate or 21000 hrs * 1 = 21000

idle variance is created when, machines are out of power or labour go on strike in the working hours .... these free hours give rise to idle variance !!
