Default We shall Study topic only or other things too

I was going through CSS syllabus for Computer Sciences and question came to my mind is what if we only study the topics mentioned in the syllabus. For example check syllabus of Programming fundamentals below.

Programming Fundamentals :-Basic programming elements and concepts, Problem Solving & Program Design, Components of a programming language, Program development and execution, Program structure, Data types and variable declarations, Standard I/O streams, and statements, Control structures, Standard library functions, User defined functions and parameter passing, Arrays, pointers, and strings, Structures, unions, and bit manipulation operators.

Is it good idea if i "only" go through the Topics that are mentioned above? because there are many topics that are not in it like lambda, enumerations, secure coding practices, etc so what should i do?

It is enough to prepare mentioned topic in the syllabus. And also do some basic practice of c++ language.
