for the beginers of computer science
Asalam ul akum
The syllabous for computer science can not be covered by reading one or two books. I think first of all you should hav to learn about computer and its terminologies for that purpose I think the book name ' discovery of computers 2006 ' is the best book it is a introductory book for computer science. Then u should read 'software engineering' by R.Pressman which is much easier book and easy to understand Ian Sommerville is rather touf to undestand and more technical. And for computer networks u must read 'computer networks' by Behrouz A Frozen that is most easy book for networks. Frozen used easy english but stallings used high class english and very technical words anf tanenbaum use very much history in it. And for the Operating system and concepts 'operating systems and concepts' by silberschatz is the best. And for the database u should take a book name ' database systems' by Thomas Connolly and Carolyn Begg. For the c++ book name' how to program in c++' by deitel and deitel. I think these r best books for basic level for the computer science. and for a such person who just hav listened the name of computer and unknown about the working of computer. Just read these books if u meet any problem then ask to me I will try my best to solve it. best of luck. |

salam to all..
I have done computer software engineering..Bsc(hon). belive me this, this is da syllabiof all our 4 year program...covers all majors.. so i want to caution all those who have not done software engineering to think once again before taking this course. i myself not taking this. i m not trying to scare you ppl..but you can validify my statement from any Fast or any other student of Computer Sciece. You be getting same answer. if that subject would be of 200 marks, then may be one think of studying it but just for 100 marks its sheer waste of time. so please think for another time before making final decision.

@Janeeta
Being a Soft Engg myself. I totally agree with Mahgull. Syllabus is very extensive for a subject of 100 marks. Studing in two weeks all the syllabi via two weeks lecture notes......... sounds like a wild jock...... Even sound revision of it will take around three to four weeks. Graduates in Soft or System Engg in Computer will agree after having just a look at syllabus ! regards, sincerely, Noman ! |
