hello Rabia,

hope u r doing good! Rabia though cs is a scoring optional yet one should opt it if one has excellent command over this subject! if ur command is just average. do not go for it. just analyze past five years papers and judge ur competence! somehow there could be another problem if u do not opt it! once u clear ur written examination and would qualify for interview if ur optionals do not include cs it would cast a bad impression on panel, they would prob u y u did not opt cs owing to this is ur major stream as u did master int it. certainly there should be strong and logical ground to support ur decision so also take this thing into ur considerastion.

best wishes!

Default NUST Software engineer is here

Aoa! i have recently passed BE ( Software Engineering) from NUST and plan to take CSS 2005 inshaAllah.
The CS syllabus is too easy I'll say. It is not at all programming intensive and anyone with a CS background can prepare for it in just 3-4 days. Most of the concepts tested are of elementary level and one does not need to read a lot of extra material for good marks. If anyone of you has any query, please contact me directly at hotmail. Thanks.

Default I agree

Dear Nauman,

Its nice to find you here. Although I don't have any computer qualification but my vast experience in this field gave me some hint that its easy. But since all these programmers in here before you were complaining about its difficulty I kept quiet.

Thanks for giving me a chance to talk.

Regards,
Adil Memon

Default Mis-informers every where

Ah well !
Mis-informers abound everywhere , the course covered by CS syllabus is so exhaustive that I bet none of the BS/MS can attempt to cover it all in 3 to 4 days , make it 3 to 4 months and even then its too much course!

Anyway , har kisi ki apni choice hy , (y)

Default Lay-man

Salam.
I decided to venture to suggest a thing or two, my miserable knowledge of computer sciences notwithstanding. One fact all of us must keep in mind is that 'fact-based-guidence' can be a blessing as much as a 'misguidence' a curse.
One of my friends, MS from PUCIT and a software engineer had once said that though the syllabus of CSS is managable, but there is one major problem. The examiner asks for Programming-language based programs, to be written in the paper. Now the programmers prepare their programs on PC and can easily check it for errors. But in the paper you have no such facility available. Thus the omissions or erros shall not allow you the marks, you could otherwise expect.

The experts are requested to pay attention to this problem and guide the others. Thank you.
