Exclamation Seniors please help.

With background to the extent that I have studied economics in one of the modules of C.A and B.A, can I adroitly master over the syllabus of Economics paper 1 or it is just a cup of tea for a candidate holding masters degree in it?? Please answer it. Regards.

If you find no alternative to Economics; there is little you can do about it. I would suggest you opt for a different subject if you feel you can devour and prepare the course in time. As for your background, you have studied the basics of economics which will not suffice for a 200 mark syllabus. You should also bear in mind that the objective portion consists of everything there is under a full economics degree. Failing to deal with that will cost you dearly; for familiarity with them not only requires practice but conceptual understanding. I do not intend in any way to discourage you but this comes out in good faith and as a word of caution. Prospects in your case will be more of a gamble than promising. The question is: Are you willing to stake as much?

Depends on how much you are willing to study and how comfortable you are with expressing the things mathematically. You can express something in words and that will fetch you some marks; express it in graphs and get some more; express it mathematically and you're done with everything you could have done.

So even if crystal clear understanding and expression of economics may not be required to get reasonable marks in a CSS exam, such expertise is a must for a distinction in economics, i.e. >70% marks.

If you are in love with the subject, go ahead and put in some extra effort. But if you're just relying on what you already know about economics, drop the idea. For a better evaluation of your current standing, get hold of some past-papers.

PS: I don't think the objective portion is as challenging as Toru thinks. 80-90% score in Economics should not be a problem who has gone through a Basic Micro-/Macro-/Development-/Pakistan Economy books.

Best!
