Default Economic and engineering

I never studied economics in my life. Being from engineering background, is it advisable for me to economics as my optional? I chose it because I want to study economics, if not CSS, it will help me my life though.

If you are confident about your preparation for other subjects, you may go ahead with economics. But be informed, it will take considerable time for preparation.

If it is just the attraction of the subject and you want to be confident of knowing the economy and economic debates, there is no reason why you should opt this subject in CSS. You could rather start with Khan's Academy Micro and Macro lectures. And read any Op-Ed from Dawn, The News, and Tribune pertaining to the economy. That will greatly improve your understanding of the economy without risking your chances of clearing the CSS.

In a nutshell, my suggestion is to go for Economics if you have plenty of time for preparation - but if other subjects are giving you goosebumps already, don't make your life more difficult!

If you know nothing of economics then I will advise to stay away from it, at least opting it for CSS.

Being a lecturer of this subject I shall say that this is the most interesting subject but not that easy that one can prepare it by his/her own just by reading the books. Don't even think of opting it for CSS without the help of a qualified tutor.

Dear I'm also with engineering background, I assume you have studied economics 2 credit hour subject in course, well in my case I studied economics as minor subject. But, the syllabus of economics is vast and need good information and technique to acquire robust marks. Currently, I'm preparing Microeconomics part and its syllabus is same as 15 was but change in demand and supply topic.

For help in life read economic issues. These are tasty. But graphs like utility cost etc are not practicaly applied in real life. And as you never studied economics. Never opt it please
